Doyle Wesley Stine Sr.

Doyle Wesley Stine Sr.was born in Thackerville, Oklahoma, youngest son
of William E. and Jo Evelyn Stine. He was preceded in death by his
parents and brothers, Larry and Bob Stine, and his eldest son and
namesake, Doyle Wesley Stine, Jr. He is survived by his beloved wife
of nearly 49 years, Mary Anne Stine; daughter, Lisa St. Mary of
Monterey; son, David Stine and fiancée, Shondra Shelton of
Bakersfield; daughter-in-law, Dana Stine and granddaughter, Rebecca
Stine both of Bakersfield; sisters-in-law, Helen Bass and husband,
David; and Judy Stine and daughter, Cheryll as well as numerous
cousins. His work as an Engineering Designer and Project Manager was
done with diligence and great skill. After retirement he became a
wonderful cook, loving to grocery shop and share recipes. He will be
joyfully remembered for his wonderful jokes and creatively illustrated
love notes. Doyle had many hobbies including wood carving, cartooning,
playing the piano and model building. He had a great interest in WWII
history and aircraft and admiration for military veterans. His love of
traveling to the Hawaiian Islands for over 30 years with his wife and
family also brought him great joy. He courageously endured the assault
of Pulmonary Fibrosis which ultimately took his life. With the caring
assistance of Optimal Hospice, he died peacefully at home surrounded
by his family. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, November 14th,
at 1:00 p.m., at Greenlawn, River Blvd. Visitation begins Monday,
November 13th, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
