MINUTES OF THE MOUNT PLEASANT CHURCH

March 7, 1946

The session of the Mount Pleasant Church met at Mount Pleasant.

Present  Rev. E. Hotchkin

Elders  Isaac Folsom, N. Cochnauer

The Session was opened with prayer.

Mrs. Jane Perkins, Mr. George Turnbull 1, & Miss Esther Folsom presented themselves as Candidates for Church membership.

After Examination, Resolved, That They be received.

Closed with prayer.

May 11, 1846

The session of the Mount Pleasant Church met at Mount Pleasant.

Was opened with prayer.

Present  Rev. C. Kingsbury

Elders  Col. Isaac Folsom, Nicholas Cochnauer

The following persons presented themselves for examination as candidates for church membership:

George Perkins 2 Sarah Leucas Eliza Folsom
Melinda McGee Cisteen Battice Elizabeth Jones
Lotta McGee Emdine Leucas

After examination, Resolved, that no reasons appear why the above named persons should not be admitted to the church.

Resolved however that no decision relative to their admission be made until another meeting of the Church session.

At the meeting of the Session May June 21/46 recorded on the next page it was determined that the persons examined at the previous meeting (May 11) should be received as members of the church.

June 21, 1846

The Session of Mount Pleasant Church met at Mount Pleasant.

Was opened with prayer.

Shin-tyk-e presented herself as a candidate for admission to the Church. After examination, it was

Resolved, that a decision in her case be deferred to some future time.

Mrs. Betsy Betts presented herself as a candidate for admission to the church. After examination,

Resolved, that she be received.

Resolved, that those examined at the last meeting of the Session, with the exception of Emeline Leucas, be received as members of this church.

August 24, 1946

The session of Mount Pleasant Church met at Mount Pleasant.

Was opened with prayer.

Session resolved that Brs. N. Cochnauer and I. Fulsom be a committee to call on Bro. T. B. Turnbull and converse with Him relative to his delinquencies in Christian duty.

Nov. 15, 1846

The session of Mount Pleasant Church met at Mount Pleasant.

Was opened with prayer.

Present  Rev. C. Kingsbury

N. Cochnauer

The committee appointed at the last meeting of the Session to converse with Bro. T. B. Turnbull relative to his delinquencies in Christian duty reported that they had conversed with him - that he was sensible of his delinquencies appeared penitent and manifested a desire to amend.

Miss Hannah More presented a letter of dismission and recommendation from the Dwight church in the Cherokee Nation with a request to be received into this church, which request was granted.

It was reported to the Session that Amy Folsom and Anna Folsom had been guilty of irregularities in conduct which called for the action of the Session.

Resolved, that action in their case be deferred.
