MINUTES OF THE MOUNT PLEASANT CHURCH

Tomahushi  Jan 4, 1852

Session met and the meeting was opened with prayer.

Kowiki presented herself before the session as a candidate for admission to the communion of the church. After examination, Resd. that she be received.

Mt. Pleasant  Feb 22, 1852

Session met and was opened with prayer.

Jonas Frazier and his wife Lucy Frazier, having removed beyond the bounds of this church, requested a letter of dismission and recommendation to the Mayhew Church within the bounds of which they now reside. Resd. that their request be granted.

George Hall and Sholli, members of the church, being accused by common fame, of living in a state of adultery, Resd. that they be suspended from all the privileges of the church, till the matter can be thoroughly investigated.

George Perkins and his wife Jan Perkins, members of this church having for a long season neglected their religious duties, and lived in the practice of scandalous sins, and having been often conversed with and cited to appear before this session, and having refused to do so, therefore, Resd. that they be excluded from the fellowship and communion of this church.

Nancy Fry, Salina Milton, and Okishhoyo presented themselves before the session for examination as candidates for admission to the church. The session being satisfied with the evidence of their piety, Resd. that they be received. Closed with prayer.

May 2nd session again met and was opened with prayer. Present as above.

Palashechi appeared for examination as a candidate for admission to the church. After examination, Resd. that she be received.  Closed with prayer.

Mt. Pleasant June 20, 1852

Session was opened with prayer.

Nancy Frazier, a member of this church, appeared and confessed that she had greatly sinned in giving way to angry feelings, professed penitence and requested to be restored. The session satisfied with the evidence of her repentance, Resd. that her request be granted. 

Joseph Frazier, also a member, appeared and acknowledged that he had also sinned in a difficulty with his family, had neglected the great duty of prayer. Session exhorted him to engage again in the performance of all his duties as a member of the church.

Georg Hall a suspended member of the church appeared and conversed with the session in regard to his feelings and desires, but did not feel prepared to be restored to the fellowship of the church at this time. 

Closed with prayer.

Amos Cole presented himself before the session as a candidate for admission to the church. On examination his religious experience was found to be very defective, and session Resd. to defer a decision in his case till some future time.

Shahbicki a member of this church, who had been suspended, came to the session, freely and fully confessed his guilt and professed penitence therefor. The session being satisfied with the evidence of the repentance Resd. that he be restored to the communion of the church.
