Wanda R. Slentz, 84, died Tuesday October 14, 2008 in Graham. Funeral services was at 2 p.m. Friday, October 17, 2008, in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ronnie Guess, pastor of New Hope Baptist Church in La Casa, Texas officiating. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 18, 2008, in Resthaven Memorial Park in Lubbock, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Wanda was born December 3, 1923, in Bixby, Oklahoma, to the late Walter Ray and Edith (King) Mahon. She married Lester J. Slentz, August 10, 1945, in Wichita Falls, Texas. He preceded her in death on March 11, 1964. Wanda moved from Levelland, Texas to Graham in 1963. She was formerly employed as a secretary in Graham for Graham Medical Center, Gene Glass Motor Co. and T. Jean Rogers. Wanda was a member of the Desk and Derrick Club, Woman’s Club, Art Guild and First Church Nazarene.
Survivors include daughters, Lisa Langford and husband Robert of Strawn and Teri Allison and husband David of Anton; son, Michael Slentz and Theresa of Lubbock; brother, Galal Mahon and wife Diane of Arlington; three grandchildren, Brittnay, Shaina, and Michael J. Slentz. Wanda was also survived by her constant companions, Isit and Dinky.

Wanda was preceded in death by a nephew Chad Alan Mahon.
Memorials may be made to Young County Humane Society, Meals on Wheels or the donor’s favorite charity.
