Ancestors of Mrs. D.W. Bushyhead:
James Butler said to be the son of the Duke of Armund, Irland (i.e.), came to the colonies soon after the settlement of Jamestown and settled in Prince William County, Virginia.

William Butler, his son, married Berthalind Foate MOORE and immigrated to South Carolina before the Revolutionary War.  He took part in all the campaigns of the south in the Colonial Army.

Their son, Col. William Butler, married Jane PERRY, sister of the two distinguished commanders; Oliver Hazard [Perry], the hero of Lake Eria (i.e.) and commadore, Mathew Galbraith Perry who opened up trade with Japan.

Their son James L. Butler married Frances TAYLOR of Tahlequah old Indian Territory.

Their daughter, Eliose Perry Butler [the subject of this interview], married Chief Dennis Wolf BUSHYHEAD of the Cherokee Nation.

Their son, James Butler Bushyhead married Mina WALKER of Pleasant Green, MO.

Their daughter, Frances Taylor Bushyhead, married James Knox GIBSON of Stanton, Tennessee.

Their son, James Knox Gibson, lives in Los Angeles, California.
