Former U.S. Official Dies at Vinita


    VINITA, Aug. 14.—W.M. Simms, 79 years old, former United States commissioner, died here Friday morning after a long illness.
    Simms, a veteran of the Spanish-American war, was injured in the battle of San Juan hill while serving with Teddy Roosevelt’s “Rough Riders.” He was Indian probate attorney here for many years. The funeral will be here at 2 p.m. Sunday.
