VINITA, March 30.—Sybil Arlene Duncan, 7-year-old
step-daughter of John William Burge, farmer living eight
miles south of here, was killed Thursday when struck by a
truck driven by Chester Lee Pitts, Big Cabin, the highway
patrol reported.
Pitts told Patrol Trooper O.L. Nickerson that the child,
playing with two older brothers beside a culvert near their
home, ran in front of his truck just as he started to pass.
No charges were filed against Pitts.
