Rites Pending For Long-Time Vinita Resident
 

    VINITA, Feb. 9.—Mrs. Jeannette Starr Billingslea, 86, pioneer Vinita resident, died Wednesday. Mrs. Billingslea had suffered a fractured hip in a fall about a month ago. She had been bedfast since that time.
    Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
    She was a great-niece of John Ross, chief of the Cherokee nation during the removal of the Cherokees from the southeastern states to Indian territory in the 1830’s.
    An alumna of the Cherokee Female seminary in Tahlequah, she was a charter member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy here.
    Survivors include one daughter, Miss Willie Billingslea, Vinita; one son, Joe Billingslea, Springfield, Mo.; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Helen Pierce, Nowata, and one stepson, Frank Billingslea, Coffeyville, Kan.
