Death of a 3-year-old child, struck by an automobile as he left church services with his parents at Vinita Sunday brought to five the accident toll for the Labor day weekend, the Oklahoma highway patrol reported Sunday.
William Roscoe York, 3, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe York, Vinita, was struck by an automobile driven by Mrs. Frances Margaret DeMunbrun, 18, Watonga. The child died less than an hour after being received at a Vinita hospital.
According to Trooper O.B. Patterson, of the patrol, the York family had left the Congregational church and Mrs. York crossed the street with two older children. William Roscoe lingered behind with his father and darted out from behind a parked automobile.
