Rites Friday For Mrs. Marks Vinita Pioneer
 

    VINITA, Feb. 16—Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Pilgrim Presbyterian church for Mrs. Fannie E. Marks, 85, pioneer resident of Vinita, who died early Wednesday.
    Mrs. Marks, active in Vinita affairs for many years, was born in Lowell, Mo., and moved to Vinita with her family when she was a child.
    A graduate of the first class to finish at the Cherokee Female seminary, Tahlequah, Mrs. Marks taught school for several years in Indian Territory.
    Mrs. Marks, first Vinita postmistress, served when Vinita was known as Downingville. She was the widow of L.W. Marks, Vinita rancher and stockman.
    A charter member of the First Presbyterian church, Mrs. Marks was a member of the building committed that built the present Presbyterian church in 1903.
    Survivors include one son, Dr. W.R. Marks, Vinita.
