VINITA—Services for Mrs. Mary Ann Simmons, 88-year-old
former Vinitan who died Sunday in the home of her son, John
Simmons, Tulsa, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Luginbuel
Brothers funeral home chapel.
Mrs. Simmons, widow of J.A. Simmons who died in January,
1950, was a native of Tennessee. She came to Vinita in 1900
and lived with her husband on a farm three miles west of
town until his death when she went to Tulsa to make her home
with her son.
Survivors include: three other sons, W.R., Port Neches,
Texas, and Everett and Lee Simmons, both of Vinita; two
daughters, Mrs. Lizzie Massey, Joplin, Mo., and Mrs. Mae
Nichols, Santa Clara, Calif.; one brother, Andy Hayes,
Dalton, Ga.; one sister, Mrs. J.K. Mahan, Weatherford,
Texas; 11 grandchildren and 12 great- grandchildren.
