JANANA B. LAMAR
 

    VINITA—Services for Mrs. Janana Ballard Lamar, 81, pioneer school teacher, who died Monday in her home in Bernice, will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the Baptist church, Bernice. Burial will be in the Ballard cemetery near Bernice.
    Mrs. Lamar, born and reared in Bernice, had taught school for 58 years.
    She received her degree at Texas Tech, Lubbock, Texas, and began teaching at the age of 17. She retired at 75.
    She taught at the old Cherokee Female Seminary and Northeastern State college and in the elementary grades, all in Tahlequah; the Bernice highschool and rural schools in Ottawa and Delaware counties.
    Mrs. Lamar was the widow of Rev. Jessie Lamar, a Methodist minister, who died in 1927. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Harold Bunch, Bernice, and Mrs. Ruth Fleming, Adair.
