Page 7. Obituary - Edward Herbert Irvin, eldest son of Thomas and Rhodantha Irvin, was born near Stansbury, Missouri, on August 20, 1874 and departed this life in the Clinton Hospital February 17, 1956 at the age of 81 years, 5 mo., 27 days.

On December 17, 1895 he was married to Bertha Spainhower. In 1899 they moved to Oklahoma, homesteading on a farm one mile east of Putnam where they resided until 1948 when they moved to Clinton.
At an early age he united with the Christian Church in Putnam. When they moved to Clinton they united with the First Baptist Church.

His wife passed away in November 1954. Surviving are the two sons, Ressie of Putnam, Loyd of Kansas City, Kansas; the two daughters, Mrs. Leta Barr and Mrs. Elva Stanton both of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, 2 brothers, Jesse of Braman, Oklahoma, and Lawrence of Nash, Oklahoma, 2 sisters, Mrs. Orville Goble of Enid and Mrs. Eva Scott, Tulsa; 8 grandchildren and great grandchildren.
