Uriah B. Dobbins

Lieutenant

Company F, 20th Alabama Infantry

Born October 2, 1838

Died December 8, 1903 in Wynnewood, OK of "softening brain"

Buried at Oaklawn Cemetery in Wynnewood, Oklahoma with an Iron Cross to mark his grave and now has a military marker

Uriah B. Dobbins served under General Edmund Pettus during his enlistment in the Confederate Army.

Uriah married Mary Amanda Henderson.   She was born May 1, 1841 and died April 11, 1911 and is also buried at Oaklawn Cemetery.

They left Perry County Alabama with her family on November 10, 1879.  The group consisted of five wagons and the trip took 38 days, finally ending in Smith County, Texas.

The Dobbins family lived in Lindale, Texas prior to moving to Wynnewood, Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory in 1890.

He was Presbyterian.

Mary Dobbins is also buried in Oaklawn Cemetery.  She was born May 1, 1841 and passed this life April 11, 1911.
