Return to Wynnewood View Cemetery

The cemetery is next to 1-35 on east side of highway. When you pull up to cemetery the largest stone is Joe Cox. (Picture of Tombstone)
Someone has gone into the cemetery and cannot read the rock on the south side of Joe's grave.  If you look at it you can read Emily Cox.
This is the mother of Joe Cox.  Next to Emily (Emily Cox was a painter before she married), grave on the south is a grave with no marks, it is Sowel Cox, Father of Joe and husband of Emily.  If you stand at the Cox graves and look east and a little south you will see a grave by the name of Tucker. Sowel Cox killed his step son and then took his on life. The Cox  came from ne corner of Missouri to Coryell Co. TX., then to Rising Star Eastland Co. TX.,  then on to Hardeman Co. where later the county was divided into Ford Co. TX   Cox were in Ford Co. from there they went into Garvin Co.
My dad Marshall Cox was born 6-20-1897.  His oldest brother was William Allen Cox and he was in law enforcement for Wynnewood when he died.
I am Charles Allen Cox born 12-26-1930 Vernon, Wilbarger Co. TX. If anyone wants  to connect with me, call 281-585-8270 (Alvin, TX)
