"Bud" McCarty Thomas B. "Bud" McCarty, 92, of Pauls Valley was born on Jan 7, 1907 to Will and Bertie Christian McCarty in Robberson, Oklahoma. He passed away on Monday, March 1, 1999 at Pauls Valley General Hospital. Bud grew up and attended school in the Robberson and Eola area. He then moved Oklahoma City and became a barber. He then moved to California in 1941 to join the Merchant Marines. In 1972, Bud moved back to Pauls Valley where he participated in teaching Sunday School class at the Pauls Valley Church of Christ. Mr. McCarty is survived by one sister, Dorothy Edwards of Garden City, California and a host of nieces and nephews. Bud was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Kennon McCarty; four brothers and four sisters and by his parents, Will and Bertie McCarty, who are buried at the Dripping Springs in Pernell/Tussey area where many of Bud's aunts and uncles and their families are buried. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, March 4 in the Wooster Funeral Home Chapel with Ray Mayhue officiating. Interment will be in the Foster Cemetery under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home.
