She was born Oct. 15, 1920 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. She married John R. Brown on May 30, 1938 in Pauls Valley. She was a woman of great strength. Anyone who knew her knew this about her. She always focused on the more positive things in life and letting God be in control. She was a longtime Hobbs bus driver and also past presi­dent of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, John R. Brown, who died Oct. 23, 2005, and three of her chil­dren, Jerry Brown, Becky Henry and Peggy Brown. Survivors include a son, Johnny R. Brown of Hobbs, N.M.; a granddaughter, Leilani Sundquist of Clovis, N.M.; and six great-grandchildren.
