Frances Riley
Services for Frances Riley, 85, Wynnewood will be held at 2:00 p.m.
Thursday, Dec. 7, 2000 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Linden Riley
officiating. Interment will be held in the Sunset Memorial Gardens
Cemetery, Lawton, with Cowley-Krien Funeral home in charge of he arrangements.
Mrs. Riley was born May 27, 1915 in Hulen, Okla. to John Gage and
Victoria Terrell. She died Dec. 3, 2000 at her residence in Wynnewood.
On Oct. 25, 1932 she married Walter J. Riley in Duncan. He preceded her
in death in 1981. Mrs. Riley was raised in Hulen. She moved to Lawton in 1932 then to
Wynnewood in 1990. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and David
Mallow,Wynnewood; three sons and daughters-in-law, Linden and Jo Riley,
Lawton, Jerry and Mary Ann Riley, Springdale, Ark.,and Terry and Sue Riley,
Geronimo; 14 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and three
great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers were grandsons.
Jewell Ida Ritcheson
Jewell Ritcheson, 93, died peacefully in Green Valley, Ariz., on Saturday, Dec.
2, 2000. She was born on April 18, 1907, on the family farm a mile or two west
of Maysville to Samuel Edward and Laura Bryant Vaughn. Jewell was one
of 11 children - three boys and eight girls. She is survived by three: Mrs. Claude
Rogers, T.H. Vaughn and Mrs. William Paul, all of Elmore City. Jewell's
father and his brother, Howard Vaughn, founded the first school in Maysville,
where until recently the teaching faculty included members of the family. In
August 1923, Jewell Vaughn married Charles Frederick Ritcheson, the son of a
Maysville merchant. They remained in Maysville for the rest of their lives.
He preceded her in death in August 1979 after 56 years of marriage. She was also
preceded in death by three children: an infant son, Betty Ruth Ritcheson, and
Harold Vaughn Ritcheson. Her two surviving children are Charles Ray
Ritcheson of Paris, France (Washington, D.C.), and Mrs. Patty Sue Cooper of
Green Valley. She is also survived by eight grandsons and nine great-grandchildren.
In earlier years, Jewell participated in the Order of the Eastern Star, and she
was a member of the Methodist Church, where she worshiped for more than 75 years.
Funeral services are scheduled at 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, in the Maysville First
United Methodist Church with Rev. Leon Harrel and Rev. Joel Betow officiating.
Interment will be at the Maysville Cemetery under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home.
Shirley Anne Nance
Services for Shirley Anne Nance will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, at the Church
of Christ, officiated by John Curtis. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery under
the direction of Stufflebean Funeral Home. Shirley Anne Nance of Welling,
formerly of Pauls Valley, passed away Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, in Welling. She was born
June 30, 1930, in Muskogee to Leslie Rennell and Nora (Hefley) Frailey. She had worked
as a sewing inspector for Kellwood in Pauls Valley. She was a member of the Church of
Christ. Shirley lived in Pauls Valley from Sept. 11, 1977, until June 29, 1994. Shirley
had worked as a foster grandparent at the Pauls Valley State School and at Jackson School.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, who raised her, Flora Frailey;
husband, John Nance on Dec. 1, 1992; and an infant son. She is survived by four daughters:
Cathy Loudermilk and Patricia McClendon, both of Stilwell, Terrie Bluebird of Welling,
and Tammie Force of Stilwell; step-daughter, Jean Mosteller of Pauls Valley; six
grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Earnest Grant Kimberlin
Earnest Grant Kimberlin, born in Pauls Valley on May 25, 1910, passed away at
his home in Tucson, Ariz., on Oct. 19, 2000. Known always as "Grant,"
he had all of his public schooling in Pauls Valley. He graduated from Pauls
Valley High School with the class of 1929. He married Beatrice Pyles
of Pauls Valley in 1930. After graduating from Hills Business College in Oklahoma
City, he worked as an accountant with motor freight lines in Arizona and Ardmore.
He also worked as an auditor for the Oklahoma State Tax Commission in the mid-1930s.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Ira Earnest "Ern" Kimberlin, who served
several times as Garvin County commissioner, and Lena Mae Florence Kimberlin.
He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Florence Bryant and Mary Jane Ray.
In addition to his wife, Beatrice, he is survived by sons, Larry and Jim of Tucson;
daughter, Sara of Flagstaff, Ariz.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren;
and other relatives. Funeral and burial services were conducted by East Lawn Palms
Mortuary and Cemetery in Tucson on Oct. 23.
Leroy "Sonny" Knight
Services for Leroy "Sonny" Knight, 63, of Tussy will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec.
3, at the Fox School auditorium with Rev. Clyde Quick officiating. Interment will
be at the Tussy Cemetery under the direction of Milburn Funeral Home in Ratliff City.
Leroy "Sonny" Knight was born Jan. 25, 1937, in Tussy to Jess and Joyce "Berry" Knight,
and passed away Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000, at Duncan Regional Hospital.Sonny was a lifelong
resident of the Tussy, Ratliff City and Velma area. He was well known in the local area
for helping hundreds of young children learn to ride horses. Survivors include his mother,
Joyce Quick of the home; sister, Wanda Jackie Jenkins of Noble, Okla.; brothers:
Gary Knight of Durango, Colo., and Clyde Quick of McLoud; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers at the service will be Jerry and Bill Strickland, Charlie Foster, Slim Clagg,
Pete Hall, Rooster Womack, Chad Winter, and Gailand Milligan.
Robert 'Bob' Lewis
Robert "Bob" Lewis, 44, of Del City passed away in Presbyterian Hospital on Wednesday, Nov.
29, 2000. He was born in Denver, Colo., on March 14, 1956. He and his brother, Warren, were
adopted at the ages of four and six in Denver by Paul W. and Elaine T. Lewis, who were
missionaries in the countries of Burma and Thailand. Bob lived in Burma from 1960 until
1966. He lived in Thailand from 1968 until 1975. He returned at that time to the United
States. From the age of eight he had diabetes, which caused serious complications later
in life. He lived in Lindsay and the Oklahoma City area from 1980 until his death. He was a
member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Denver. He has worked in the automobile and oil
business. Survivors include two children: Tasha Dawn and Tyler Andrew Lewis of Del City;
both parents, Paul W. and Elaine T. Lewis of Claremont, Calif.; and brother, Warren A. Lewis
of Tucson, Ariz. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annetta J. Lewis on May 30, 1999. They
were married in Lindsay on Sept. 20, 1980.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m.
Saturday, Dec. 2, in the Boydston Funeral Chapel with Rev. Paul Lewis officiating. Interment
at Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay was under the direction of B.G. Boydston Funeral Home.
Marvin Dwight Jackson
Funeral services for Marvin Dwight Jackson, 89, of Elmore City will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday,
Dec. 10, in the Satterwhite Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Dale Ruggles and Rev. Joe Ray
Coppenbarger officiating. Interment will be at the Elmore City Cemetery. Services are under
the direction of Wooster Funeral Home. Marvin was born to Neal and Addie Mae (Luck) Jackson
on Oct. 12, 1911, in Bray and passed away Friday, Dec. 8, 2000, in Wynnewood after a long illness.
In 1922, he moved with his family to Elmore City where Marvin attended school. On March 28, 1936,
Marvin married Marvene Dewberry in Pauls Valley. They made their home in the Satterwhite community,
later moving to New Mexico. To this union was born a daughter, Wanda Ruth. They later moved to
Washington in 1941 and stayed three years. They then moved back to the Elmore City area and began
farming. In 1950, Marvin and his family moved back to Washington until returning to Elmore City
in December 1989. He had worked in construction, building dams on the Columbia River in Washington.
Mr. Jackson is survived by his wife, Marvene of the home; daughter, Mrs. Wanda Ruth Mehaffey of
Anacortes, Wash.; two sisters: Mrs. Mary Lue Childress of Oklahoma City, and Mrs. Kathryn Kliever
of Shafter, Calif.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Mr. Jackson was preceded in
death by his parents, Addie Luck Jackson when Marvin was three years old, and Neal and Dessie Jackson;
sister, Eula Jackson; and a brother, Earl Jackson.
Alice H. Riddle
Private services were held for former Sulphur resident Alice H. Riddle,with burial at Glen Abbey
in Chula Vista, Calif. Mrs. Riddle was born July 10, 1907 in Wynnewood, Indian Territory,
to D. M.K. "Bud" Huddleston , and Mary Jane Vanderslice. She died Wednesday,Nov. 29, 2000 at
Chula Vista, Calif. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Riddle, on May 24, 1958,
and son, Bill Riddle, April 15, 1992. She is survived by one daughter, Mercerdes, and her
husband, John Egan; eight grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.
Mrs. Riddle retired from Rohr Aircraft in 1972, after having been the first woman supervisor
