Maggie Lee McCarty Torno Return to Photo Index

I've attached a picture of Maggie Lee McCarty Torno, Jesse McCarty's only daughter.
It was taken in 1949, in Sinton, San Patricio Co., Texas.
She was born in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, August 17, 1908. I thought some of the
other McCarty Family members would be interested in seeing Maggie's picture.
After Nora Gray McCarty died, Maggie lived with Aunt Mary McCarty in Oklahoma until she was 13.
I'm not sure but I believe this is also the same Mary McCarty, Jesse's sister, who married George Gray, Maggie's Grandfather.
My Mother told me a story about when they all went to the funeral of George Gray.
Maggie told her that she hated the big stair case in George Gray's house because it was her job to always dust it.
So, I'm beginning to believe that Maggie and her brothers lived with George & Mary Gray until she turned 13.
