The date and info on the back is: Feb 6th 1899 and Flower St. 137. John was a carpenter, a Methodist Episcopal Minister, and a veteran of the Civil War (Iowa 33 Inf Co. I). John, his wife and his mother (Ann (CALVERT) SHEPHERD) are buried in Lawrie Cemetery.
