To ensure good service observe the following rules:
   Always call by number.
   Speak close to mouthpiece in a low, distinct tone of voice.
   When making calls for toll line conversations, call Local Exhcange operator, to whom you will give the name of the place to which you wish to talk, and the name of the person wanted.
   The toll rates are for conversations counting five minutes or less; for more than five minutes an additional charge will be made.
   A messenger fee will be charged only when a person called cannot be summoned by city exchange 'phones. Toll line calls made over city 'phones will be charged to and collected from the subscribers for 'phones from which call is made.
   It is possibly a much more difficult task to install a plant of this kind than you realize, and any courtesies shows the management will be appreciated.
   Call up 100 if you want a 'phone put in or if your 'phone is out of fix.
   Call Central if you want to know how the trains are and you will be sure to find out, as the agent always lets Central know.
