Notation from Isabel Vandervelde: This is of Abram Perry Landis, with his second wife. His first wife was Sarah Chambers, sister of the Levi Chambers. Perry was the brother of Levi's wife, Lena "Laney" Landis Chambers. Both couples had moved from Fulton County, Illinois, about 1885 to homestead in Douglas County, Dakota Terr. (SD). The weather turned bad and everyone was failing. Both Levi and Perry sold off their homestead plats and moved to Oklahoma. Perry took his pregnant wife home to Illinois first, where she died in childbirth. He then married and moved down to Osage County, building a new family there. He died there in 1930 and is buried in Bartlesville, OK.
