"J.W. Ford Service To Be Held Here On Friday Afternoon"

 Funeral services for Joseph Washington FORD, 83, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the First Christian Church with Rev. J.E. McCOY, pastor, officiating.

Ford, who had been a resident of Pawhuska since 1919, died at 6 o'clock Wednesday evening, January 5, in the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. GORE, 519 East Main.  He had been bedfast since last July.

Ford was born in Howard County, Arkansas on May 10, 1885. At Mineral Springs, Arkansas, he married Rosa [TIMMONS] HURN, who preceded him in death here on December 18, 1937. Ford moved here from Texas where he had been in the cattle business and has been retired since that time.  For the past 12 years he has made his home with the Gores.

The body will lie in state at the Gore home from 5 p.m. Thursday until time for the services. Burial will be in the Pawhuska Cemetery by the side of his wife.  Ford had been a member of the Pawhuska Christian Church for 29years.

Other survivors include daughters, Mrs. Roy LEMON and Mrs. Bernice McCHESNEY, and a stepdaughter, Mrs. Maude GOSSETT, all Pawhuska, 37 grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
