Miss Theola Standifer is on the sick list this week.
Melvin Roche and wife returned on Wednesday from a week's visit
in Kansas City.
The father of R. A. and Jack Wall died in the hospital at Ponca
City last Sunday morning.
C. H. Codding and family transacted business in Winfield [Kansas],
Tuesday.
Otis Baker is very ill with pneumonia.
The result of the Grainola-Foraker basket ball game at Grainola
Friday evening was a forfeit to the Foraker girls by the Grainola
Girls not playing; and the Grainola boys won over the Foraker boys
by one point. The score being 11 to 10. This game was Foraker's
closest and cleanest game of the season, thus far.
Geo. Perry and Walter Hood finished threshing their small grain
this week. All the farmers report fine crops of small grain, also
corn, this year.
Laymond Jackson, who was injured while working for the Gypsy Oil
Co., will return soon from the hospital at Tulsa, where he went
for treatment.
A. C. Standifer has taken charge of the Cafe which has been operated
by his son, Virgil Standifer and wife.
Mrs. Groves Boulanger is visiting her sister, Mrs. Virgil Standifer
and her mother Mrs. Jack Savage.
The telephone gang that is in Foraker at present is taking meals
at the Clark eating house.
The ladies aid gave a program and pie supper at the "gym"
Wednesday evening and about $85 was the sum realized. Free coffee
was served with the pie. The main features on the program were the
"Old District School" a male quartette, a five piece orchestra,
and a series of tumbling stunts by the physical education girls
of the school.
The Foraker basket ball teams go to Pershing Friday evening for
a return game.
If anyone has news items that he wishes to be published, he will
oblige the writer by making notes of them and dropping in a box
for that purpose at the Buckley Drug Store. Since this is the only
paper that publishes Foraker news we wish to give the readers a
long column of our community happenings of each week.
