The Pawnee Chief

   ELSIE E. SKIDGEL, 80, passed away in Oklahoma City on Tuesday, August 12, 2003, and funeral services were held here on Saturday.
She was born at Clarksville, Arkansas, on October 21, 1922 to John Virgil Hallum and Essie Beller Hallum and married Lee A. Skidgel at Perry, Okla. on
April 6, 1940.
After 61 years of marriage he passed away on Nov. 2, 2001.
Besides being a busy mother and homemaker, Elsie also worked for Dr. Riemer and for Western Auto. She loved to keep photo albums and memoryials for her
grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving is a son and 2 duaghters: John Skidgel and wife, Nanette; Kathy Goodwin and husband, Gail and JoAnn LittleSun and husband James all of
Edmond, Okla.
Also 6 grandchildren: Jeff Goodwin, Edmond; Bryan Goodwin, Austin, Texas; Shawn Skidgel, Tulsa; Shane Skidgel, Seattle, Wash.; Karrie Howell, Edmond and
Kristina Beck, Thousand Oaks, Calif. Plus 6 great-grandchildren: Timothy, Hannah, Kylan, Tabatha, Alex and Kate.
Other survivors include a brother and 4 sisters: Lawrence Hallum, Siloam Springs, Ark.; Analee Pippinger, Cushing; Jessie Robbins, Pawnee; Joy Minney,
Maramec and Aredia Nixon, Panama City, Florida and a number of other relatives.
She was preceeded in death by her husband, Lee and her parents John and Essie Hallum and 2 sisters: Lola Feaster Osborn and Hazel Skidgel.
The Dr. Charles Womack and the Rev Bob Copeland officiated at the 2 p.m. funeral on Saturday, August (16), 2003 at the First Baptist Church of Pawnee.
Burial followed in Pawnee’s Highland Cemetery under direction of the Poteet Funeral Home of Pawnee.
