One Creek Valley Cemetery-Finley, OK
I’m trying to locate an obituary for JOHN E. McINTOSH who died Jan. 1916
and is buried in the One Creek Valley Cemetery. He was married to
Amanda “Mandy” Duncan on Feb. 26, 1902 in Franklin County, Arkansas.
Their children were Ruby Mae Ofelia Costilla McIntosh (married Charles
Nelson Poynter) , Ruie Marrie McIntosh (married John T. Williams) and
John Elic Andrew McIntosh. Amanda died Apr. 12, 1945 in the tornado
that went thru Antler.
I’m wondering if anyone knows where and if there is a newspaper that was
published for either Antler or Finley, OK for Jan. 1916. Thanks for
your time

Looking for information on my father’s mother, Pearl
May Boyd. She may have been born around 1904. She was married to Luther Speck
on 8/13/1919 at the Freewill Baptist Church of Sobol, Pushmatha County,
Oklahoma. My father, Earl David Speck, was born on 5/11/1920. His birth
certificate reads Antlers, Oklahoma. I understand from a census report dated
1920 that they lived in Kiamichi, Pushmatha County. It is my understanding
Pearl may have died in childbirth in 1922 although I do not know the name of the
cemetery that she is buried in. I would appreciate any information on her
family.

Surname: BUTLER
Submitted on 6Nov2013 by:
Deborah Bain Lichter
My aunt recently died in
Oklahoma City, OK and her wish was to be interred next to her husband, Billy Roy
Butler. I believe he lived in Antlers as a young boy and was buried at an
Antlers, OK cemetery. However, I have not been able to find any information
regarding this. I believe he was born about January 29, 1921 (?) and died on
or about November 26, 1986. Betty W. Butler donated her body to the medical
school at OU. The death certificate is being completed and I believe she will
be cremated. I live in Chugiak, AK and it has been a challenge to be involved
with all these loose ends from such a distance. Can you offer any assistance in
my search? I would really like to follow through with her wishes.
Thank you in advance for any help you are able to provide, or to point me in the
right direction.

Surname: CHURCH
Submitted by Robert Ray Church, Jr.
on 4Feb2013
Trying to find out more about the family, so I have started a search for
information.
At least some of my family lived in Antlers OK and I believe my father
was born there. This is what I have found so far:
Father: Robert Ray Church (23MAR1930 - 17MAY1997)
Paternal Grandfather: WIlliam 'Bill' Marion Church (22OCT1902 -
30SEP1966)
Paternal Grandmother: Mary Ruth Church (Miller) (02MAR1902 - 20FEB1940)
Paternal Step-Grandmother: Paulyne Lewis Church (remarried: Burgess)
(11May1907 - 28MAR1989)
Paternal Great Grandfather: Francis 'Frank' Marion Church (19JUL1881 -
28MAR1965)
Paternal Great Grandmother: Martha E. Church (13SEP1884 - 27NOV1960)
Obviously I need a lot more information, especially for the maternal
side. I am hoping I might find out some more information to fill out
this rather bleak family tree. ANY information would be greatly
appreciated.

distantly related to Susan (Armstrong) Evans, b. 1858 MO. She died in Hugo in

interested in finding photos of her and her family if any of her descendants are
still in the county, though I think the majority are not. Those most likely to
be are those of her daughter Irma, who married William Edgar Everidge. Their
children were Barbara Smedley, Margaret Russell, Thomas, Betty Jean Thompson,

Surname: HIX
Submitted on 2Jan2012 by
Bobby Don Hix
Trying to find out information about my g-grandparent s
Virdue and Zadie Hix.Virdue and Zadie being native American .and at the time
Virdue being a Peace Officer . He is buried along with his Dad and
Brother Walter, there is a grave unmarked .the person was killed during a bank
robbery attempt, in which my g-granddad shot him, as my g-grand dad was shot.
The bank if still standing has a bullet hole in the wall is from the robbery.
The bank robber was shot and killed by Virdue after he shot Virdue, or vice
versa. My daddy and his daddy told me this story. do you want to know who the
robber is??? The grave needs a name. On the death bed of the banker, the Banker told my
g-grandpa Virdue Hix that the man that was shot, was the Bankers brother.
The reason he never mentioned it before then, was, he was scared the town
thought he was involved in the attempted bank robbery,
so now there might be a name for the grave

Surname: ANGEL
Submitted on 12Jul2011 by
Sandy Mullins
Angel, Sterling born in
Antler, Pushmataha on
22 Jun 1889
parents reported as Elijah & Isadora GARDINER Angel.
Great-Grandpa Sterling was married in Antler to Bertha Bryant on 22 Dec 1913
(I have this) I can't find anything on Sterling before marriage. His father
Elijah 'Lige' Angel only thing I know is he is reported as being born in
Missouri (per census). Mother Isadora GARDINER Angel (if these names are
correct) was married right before Sterling was born (a few years) left
husband and children behind. Sterling and Bertha reportedly met in Indian
Orphanage and I found her on census at Park Hill in 1910 but Sterling was 21
then so unless he was working there then or left before the census, because
he is not on that census.
Sterling Angel is apparently (my idea) a
family name with another father Elijah one 22 years older in Oklahoma
