April 29th, 1909 - Volume 8, No. 14 SMITH-PARRIS Married at the home of the bride's brother, M.M. SMITH, at Holdenville, last Sunday at 9 o'clock in the evening. Miss EMMA SMITH was joined in marriage to Mr. FRANK M. PARRIS.
The ceremony was performed by Rev. HARELL, the Baptist minister. Mr. and Mrs. JEP SMITH, Mr. and Mrs. M.B. SMITH and Mr. and Mrs. JOHN CORDELL went from here (meaning Wewoka) to attend the wedding. The bride is a sister of Jep Smith, of this place. The bride is one of Holdenville's popular society young ladies and the groom comes from Childers, Texas. They will establish their home at Frederick, Oklahoma. ROBERT M. RAINEY, of Atoka, was appointed last week by Govenor Haskell, as assistant Judge in this 7th district....Judge Rainey will probably hold court here in June.
April 22, 1909 - Volume 8, No. 15 HEWITT-STAVER The many friends in Seminole county of Miss Sarah S. HEWITT, will be surprised to learn that the sure and fatal malady, Matrimony, has claimed her. She departed from the old way at 8:30 pm, April 7th at the home of her parents in Oswego, Kansas. Dr. B.F. STAVER, MD of Bartlesville, handled the case....... .............(they) will be at home to all their friends at Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
