Graveside services for Betty Sue CARTER, 64, of Gore were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at White Chapel Cemetery in Gore, with the Rev. Bill Buttram officiating.  Mrs. CARTER  was born March 17, 1935, in  Claremore, to Kiowa (GAWKSKEY) FIELDS and Angie (REED) FIELDS.  She died Sunday, Aug. 29, 1999, in Tahlequah.  She married George Daniel  "Pete" CARTER July 28, 1951, in Van Buren, Ark.  Survivors include her husband, Pete CARTER of the home; two daughters, Kim  and Kiah Lyn; one son, Danny; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Jane and Dorothy ; Mrs. CARTER also raised Jerry and Dennis.  Arrangements were under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Gore.  

Funeral services for Agnes Louise COWEN, 72, of Gore were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Reed-Culver Chapel in Tahlequah, with  the Revs. Sanders McLemore and Tim Perkins and Chief Chad Smith officiating.  Burial was in Manus Cemetery, under the direction of Reed-Culver Funeral Home in Tahlequah.  Mrs. COWEN was born May 1, 1927, in Welling, to John and Jenny (SPADE) STACY. She died Sunday, Aug. 29, 1999, in Gore.  She married David COWEN Aug. 6, 1969.   Survivors include her husband, David  COWEN of the home; one son, Colin; two daughters, Sandra and Enid; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many other relatives, friends and loved ones.  Mrs. COWAN was preceded in death by her parents and one son, John CLARK.

Graveside services for Farrie Lee FALKNER, 75, of Muldrow were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Dora Cemetery in Dora, Ark.  with the Rev. Don Hutchings officiating.  Mrs. FALKNER was born Oct. 2, 1923, in Nelson, to John and Ida Bell (JACKSON) MARTIN. She died Friday, Aug. 27, 1999, in Fort Smith, Ark.  She married Hukie Ford FALKNER Sept. 20, 1946, in Modesto, Calif.  He preceded her in death July 6, 1989.  Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Narene and Robert; two sons and one daughter-in-law, John and Debbie, and Kenneth R. ; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mildred . Arrangements were under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Muldrow.  

Funeral services for Terrill "Big Daddy" Anton FRANCIS, 18, of Vian are being held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Vian High School gymnasium, with the Revs. Terry Eubanks and Eugene Wright officiating.  Burial is in Roselawn Cemetery in Vian, under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home in Sallisaw.  Mr. FRANCIS was born Sept. 28, 1980, in Fort Smith, Ark., to Deborah TAYLOR and Clinton FRANCIS. He died Thursday, Aug. 26, 1999, in Sallisaw.  Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Deborah and Brient; his father, Clinton ; one brother, Montel; his maternal grandmother and step-grandfather, Doretha and LeVern; maternal great-grandmother, Sheary; paternal grandmother, Mildred; paternal great-grandmother, "Mother", godparents, E.D. "Junior" and Nancy;  one nephew and many aunts, uncles, cousins and special friend "brother", Josh.. Mr. FRANCIS  was preceded in death by his grandfather, James TAYLOR Sr. and  great-grandfather, Thomas DREW.  

Funeral services for Irene Lewis HUDSPETH, 70, of Roland were held at  10 a.m. Monday at Agent chapel in Muldrow.  Burial was in Cottonwood Cemetery, southeast of Muldrow, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Muldrow.  Mrs. HUDSPETH was born Sept. 12, 1928, in Fort Smith, Ark., to Clarence Alexander LEWIS and Mattie May (BESHERS) LEWIS.  She died Thursday, Aug. 26, 1999, in  Roland.  She married Joseph W. HUDSPETH April 23, 1956, in Claremore.  He preceded her in death Jan. 23, 1980.  Survivors include two sons, Robert Benton and Jacob Owens; one daughter, Linda Kay; two sisters, Thelma  and Nadine; and her mother, Mattie May Lewis.

Funeral services for Bertha "Granny Mac" McELYEA, 91,  of Muldrow will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Cottonwood Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Delbert Hodges officiating.  Burial will be in Cottonwood Cemetery, under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home in Sallisaw.  Mrs. McELYEA was born Nov. 28, 1907, in North Little Rock, Ark., to Henry and Mattie (WEAVER) CARTER. She died Monday, Aug. 30, 1999, at her home.  She married Jeff McELYEA Sept. 8, 1922.  He preceded her in death in 1944.  Survivors include three daughters, Helen, Charlene and Polly; three sons, Roy L., Eugene and Harold; 17 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. McELYEA  was also preceded in death by one son, Floyd; one daughter, Virginia REYNOLDS;  and one sister, Hazel LANDTRIP.

Mary Lillian MORTON, 75, of Sallisaw died Friday, Aug. 27, 199, at her home. She was born Nov. 25, 1923, in Duboise, Pa., to Albert Marvin DAUGHERTY and Rena Mae (McMANIGAL) DAUGHERTY.  Survivors include companion, John of the home; one son, Pat; one sister, Ruth; two nieces; one nephew; one great-nephew; and several other nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.  Her body was donated to medical science.  Mrs. MORTON was preceded in death by one daughter, Faith

Funeral services for Margie Ellen NEWPORT, 57, of Sallisaw are being held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Agent Chapel in Sallisaw, with the Rev. Robert L. Polvado officiating.  Burial is in Buffington Cemetery in Sallisaw, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw.  Mrs. NEWPORT was born Dec. 31, 1941, in Sallisaw, to Roy and Jimmie Leona (WALKER) LONG.  She died Sunday, Aug. 29, 1999, in Sallisaw.  She married James Earl NEWPORT April 24, 1977, in Liberty, Mo. He preceded  her in death April 10, 1995.  Survivors include four daughters, Linda, Sherri, Jennifer Marie and Angela; one son, James; her mother, Jimmie Leona; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; six sisters, Frances, Jane, Deloris, Mildred, Velma and Billie Kay; six brothers, Raymond, Don, Jack, Steve , Jimmy and Carl; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.  Mrs. NEWPORT was also preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth LONG in 1996..

Funeral services for Mildred Jane NICHOLS, 84, of Waldron, Ark., were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Waldron.  Burial was in Hawkins Cemetery in Parks, Ark., under the direction of Martin Funeral Home in Waldron.  Mrs. NICHOLS died Saturday, Aug. 28, 1999, in a Waldron nursing home.  Survivors include one daughter, Patsy; three sons, Tommy, Thurman and Sherman; one sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Ivan; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.  Mrs. NICHOLS was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie NICHOLS.

Graveside services for Ronnie Dale OWENS, 36, of Spiro were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Iron Bridge Cemetery, near Keota, with the Rev. Woodrow Bond officiating.  Mr. OWENS was born Oct. 29, 1962, in Stigler, to Charlie David and and Lucille (PATTON) OWENS.  He died Sunday. Aug. 29, 1999, in Fort Smith, Ark. Survivors include his wife, Lori (TYRON) OWENS  of the home; two sons, Charles and Heath; his mother, Lucille; two sisters, Lorine and Caroline Sue; and one brother, Doyle . Mr. OWENS was preceded in death by his father, Charlie David OWENS.  Arrangements were under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home in Stigler.   

Funeral services for Savola J. PITMAN, 79, of Tulsa were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Floral Haven chapel in Broken Arrow.  Mrs. PITMAN was born June 11, 1920, in Sallisaw.  She died Saturday, August 28, 1999, at her home.  She was married to William S. PITMAN for 56 years. He preceded her in death in 1994.  Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Donne and Sandie; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five sisters, Mabel, Vada, Audie, Reba and Jessie;  two brothers, Ernest and Olan; and many nieces and nephews.   

Funeral services for Barney Earl ROGERS, 79, of Harrisonville, Mo. are being held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Dickey Funeral Home in Harrisonville, with the Rev. Richard Williams officiating.  Burial is in Oakland Cemetery in Harrisonville, under the direction of Dickey Funeral Home.  Mr. ROGERS was born Oct. 11, 1919, near Sallisaw, to Dick George ROGERS  and Ethel (WITHROW) ROGERS. He died Monday, Aug. 30, 1999, at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.  He married Sarah Nettie CARMICHAEL Aug. 28, 1948, in Harrisonville.  Survivors include his wife, Sarah N. ROGERS of the home; four sons, B. Earl, James and Roy  and Mike; four daughters, Clara, Grace, Betty and Brenda; two stepgrandchildren; one brother, Garland; two sisters, Inez and Grace; and many relatives and friends.  Mr. ROGERS was preceded in death by an infant son, Ben ROGERS; two brothers, Raymond and Millard ROGERS; and two sisters, Louise and Lois ROGERS.  

Graveside services for W. H. "Dub" ROMINES, 67, of Sallisaw were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, at New Hope Cemetery in Spiro, with the Rev. Lee Woodard officiating.  Mr. ROMINES was born Sept. 3, 1931, in Moffett. He died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 1999, in Sallisaw.  Survivors include three sisters, Millie, Geneva and Mary Frances; close friend, Al; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Arrangements are under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home in Poteau.

Graveside services for Donald Adrian SPEER SR., 79, of Vian were held at 11 a.m. Monday at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Vian, with the Rev. Dale Ritter officiating.  Mr. SPEER  was born July 9, 1920, in Vian, to Monte Delone SPEER and Mary Elizabeth (BRESHEARS) SPEER. He died Saturday, Aug. 28, 1999, in Vian. He married Jessie Virginia BUTLER Aug. 11, 1940, in Roland.  Survivors include his wife, Jessie SPEER of the home; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Edward Neal and Donald Adrian Jr. and Thea; two grandsons; one granddaughter; one great-grandson; two  sisters, Ruby and Jackie; and three brothers, M. D., Louis and Bill.  Mr. SPEER was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Keith SPEER in 1981, two sisters, Pauline SIMON and Mae CHERRY; and three brothers, Buster SPEER, John SPEER  and Haskell SPEER.  Arrangements were under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw.  

Private memorial services for Billy Joe TABOR, 72, of Stockton, Calif., were held  Aug. 7, 1999, in Roseville, Calif  Burial was in the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Gustine, Calif., under the direction of Chapel of the Palms Funeral Home in Stockton.  Mr. TABOR was born March 1, 1927, in Muldrow, to Charles Edgar TABOR and Velma (BRYANT) TABOR BUFFINGTON.  He died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 1999, in Stockton, from a massive heart attack. He married Barbara Ann TATHUM. She Survives.Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Gregg and Marian; one daughter and son-in-law, Gwen and Ken; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Diane; two brothers, Rex L. and Doyle D.; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.  Mr. TABOR  was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, Samuel WOODS and Hattie (HAYS) BRYANT, John Henry and Lori (ROBARDS) TABOR, one sister, Venyon "Kewpie" TABOR YANCEY and one half brother, Thurman of Muldrow.  

Funeral services for Danny Mack WARD, 53, of Roland were held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Church of Christ of Roland, with Bro. Danny Wood, Bro. Phil Smith and Jeffrey  Allen Ward officiating.  Burial was in Roland City Cemetery, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Muldrow.  Mr. WARD was born July 2, 1946, in DeKalb, Texas, to Edmond and Netia Frances (MARTIN) WARD. He died Thursday, Aug. 26, 1999, in Fort Smith, Ark.   He married Cathy Luaghn WOOD Dec. 29, 1973, in DeKalb.  Survivors include his wife, Cathy WARD of the home; one daughter, Kristen; two sons, Jeffrey Allen and James Anthony; one grandson; his mother Netia; and one brother, Joe Edmond.

Funeral services for Charles A. "Jack" BRADLEY, 84, of Albuquerque, N.M.,  were held Thursday at French Mortuary in Albuquerque. Burial was in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, under the direction of French Mortuary.  Mr. BRADLEY was born May 29, 1915, in Sequoyah County as a birthright member of the Cherokee Nation.  He died Monday, Aug. 30, 1999.  Survivors include his wife, Francis M. BRADLEY of Albuquerque; six sons and five daughter-in-laws, Charles E.  and David L. and Jackie, Donald L. and Patricia, Paul H. and Juanita, Omar C. and Doris, and Bob and Sue; two daughters and sons-in-law, Roselyn M. and William, and Maggie  and Frank; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Mr. BRADLEY was preceded in death by one son, Patrick J. BRADLEY; his parents, Dave and Sallie BRADLEY; and sisters and brothers, Edna Cherokee AMOS, Ed BRADLEY, Delilah B. HOLSON and Raymond BRADLEY.

Funeral services for Ernest William CHASTAIN, 87, of Greenwood, Ark., were being held at 10 a.m. Friday at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood.  Burial was in Greenwood Memorial Cemetery, under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home.  Mr. CHASTAIN died  Wednesday, Sept. 1, 1999, at his home. Survivors include his wife, Pauline CHASTAIN of the home; one daughter, Helen ; five sons, Paul, Joe, Jim , Bob and Ron; 21 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services for Oval Reo PERRY, 84, of Vian were held at 2 p.m. Friday at Fort Gibson National Cemetery, with the Rev. Jack Carner officiating.  Mrs. PERRY was born Feb. 26, 1915, in Booneville, Ark., to J. A. and Melinda (EMERDEE) PATTERSON. She died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 1999, in Sallisaw.  Survivors include one daughter, Deloris; one sister, Ester Lee; one brother, Allen; six grandchildren;and six great-grandchildren. Burial was under the direction of Millsap Funeral Home in Fort Gibson.   

Funeral services for Mattie Nell REED  of Fort Smith, Ark., will be held at 10  a.m. Tuesday at Agent Funeral Chapel in Muldrow, with the Rev. Tim Ohls officiating.  Burial will be in Akins Cemetery, northeast of Sallisaw, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Muldrow.  Miss REED was born in Mineral Springs to Alvis and Mildred (SANDERS) REED.  She died Thursday, Sept. 2, 1999, in Fort Smith.  Survivors include her father, Alvis Reed of Muldrow; one sister, Pamela Jean; and one niece.

Funeral services for Opal Pack ABBOTT, 84, of Blackgum were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at The Restored Church of Jesus Christ in Sallisaw, with Leland Collins officiating.  Burial was in Box Cemetery, under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Mrs. ABBOTT  was born Oct. 17, 1914, in Blackgum, to Jim and Daisy (KETTNER) PACK. She died Saturday, Sept. 4, 1999, in a Bristow nursing home. She married Elton ABBOTT, who preceded her in death Oct. 23, 1983. Survivors include three daughters and one son-in-law, Lana and Bill, and Linda, and Faye; one son, Gary; two sisters, Nell and Bessie; one sister-in-law, Cleo; nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Mrs. ABBOTT was also preceded in death by her parents; three sister, Ollie PACK, Olean BIAS and Ruby WANDELL;  and three brothers, Don PACK, Clarence PACK and Lon PACK.

Graveside services for Fred BALDWIN, 71, of Vian are being held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the U. S. National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, with the Rev. Dale Ritter officiating.  Mr. BALDWIN was born Feb. 4, 1928, in Bartlesville, to Marvin J.T. BALDWIN and Matia L. (BROWN) BALDWIN. He died Sunday, Sept. 5, 1999, in Sallisaw. He married Pamela Kay JOHNSON Dec. 31, 1990, in Vian. Survivors include his wife, Pam BALDWIN of the home; three daughters; four sons; one stepdaughter, Tracy; 10 grandchildren; two brothers, Frank and Michael. Arrangements were under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw.

Graveside services for Marie CUSICK, 59, of Spiro were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Fairview Cemetery, near Spiro, with the Rev. Phil McGeehee officiating.  Mrs. CUSICK was born Feb. 17, 1940, in Shady Point to Verdie SULT. She died Friday, Sept. 3, 1999, in Roland. Survivors include one son, Elec; one brother and sister-in-law, James and Carol; one daughter-in-law, Olga; and one granddaughter, Chelsey. Mrs. CUSICK was preceded in death by her husband, Edward CUSICK; her parents; and one son, William.  Arrangements were under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home in Sallisaw.

Funeral services for John Porter EDWARDS, 37, of Sallisaw were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Agent Chapel in Sallisaw, with the Rev. Monroe Lowrimore officiating.  Burial was in Akins Cemetery, northeast of Sallisaw, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw.  Mr. Edwards was born March 14, 1962, in Sallisaw, to Cleloand and Betty (BARRETT) EDWARDS. He died Saturday, Sept. 4, 1999, in Sallisaw.  He married Lola Jane  WRIGHT Aug. 16, 1984, in Fort Smith, Ark.  Survivors include his wife, Lola EDWARDS of the home; two sons, Cleloand and Isaac; his mother, Betty; two sisters, Angelia and Latesha; three brothers, Bobby, Leland and Keith; his grandmother, Bea; several aunts and uncles; five nephews; and three nieces.

Ann Lou GRAY, 66, of Sallisaw died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 1999, in Fort Smith, Ark.  She was born April 11, 1933, in Uniontown, Ark., to Richard Thomas HAGGARD and Bessie Mary (MARSHALL) HAGGARD. She married Charlie L. GRAY who preceded her in death in June 1991. Survivors include one sister, Juanita; one brother, Jim Marshall; and several nieces and nephews. Cremation is under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw.  

Funeral services for Jennings HARRELL, 82, of Roland were  held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Roland, with the Rev. David Johnson and Lenna Henson officiating.  Burial was in Akins Cemetery, northeast of Sallisaw, under the direction of Agent Funeral home in Muldrow.  Mr. HARRELL was born Nov. 4, 1916, northeast of Sallisaw, to Jesse James HARRELL and Bessie Ophelia (HAILE) HARRELL. He died Friday, Sept. 3, 1999, in Fort Smith, Ark. He married Daisy SHERRELL April 1, 1938, in Sallisaw.  Survivors include his wife, Daisy HARRELL of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Howard Wayne and Margaret, and Ronald Dean and Sharon; six granddaughters; six great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Mae, Jessie and Margie. Mr. HARRELL was preceded in death by one brother, James Henry HARRELL.

Memorial services for Edward Neil JULSTEAD, 35, of Keota were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Cowlington, with the Rev. Jerry Turner officiating.  Mr. JULSTEAD was born April 20, 1964, in Fort Smith, Ark., to Donald Ray JULSTEAD and Glenna Carol (HOLLINGSWORTH) JULSTEAD. He died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 1999, in Sallisaw. Survivors include one son, Jason Ray; his father, Donald Ray; one sister, Donalla Marie; one brother, Karl Dean; and his maternal grandmother, Allene. Cremation was under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw.

Jessie Franklin SEXTON, Sr., 48, of Muldrow died  Monday, Sept. 6, 1999, in Muldrow. He was born July 4, 1951, in Fort Smith, Ark., to Frank and Helen (CHANCE) SEXTON. Survivors include three daughters, Hellen, Janey and Jeanie; two sons, Ricky, and Jessie Franklin; six grandchildren; three sisters, Wanda, Melinda and Sue; and three brothers, Ralieh, Donnie and Calvin. A private memorial service will be held.  Cremation is under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw.

Graveside services for John Allen "Chief" FIELDS, 67, of Sallisaw were held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Dwight Mission Cemetery, with the Rev. Monroe Lowrimore officiating.  Mr. FIELDS was born Nov. 7, 1931, in Vian, to Charlie and Mattie Elizabeth (DAY) FIELDS.  He died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 1999, at Sequoyah Manor Nursing Home in Sallisaw.  Survivors include one daughter, Elizabeth; one son and daughter and son-in-law, Charles Allen and Peggy Sue; seven sisters, Elizabeth, Georgia, Jeanne, ruth, Helen, Eleanor and Bettie; and four grandchildren.  Mr. FIELDS was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Charlene LECRIOX and Catherine FIELDS.  Arrangements were under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home in Sallisaw.  

Graveside services for Donna Louise GRAY, 77, of Agnes, Ark., are being held Saturday at Agnes Cemetery, with Jack Richardson officiating.  Mrs. GRAY was born Jan. 31, 1922, in Elko, Nev. She died Sunday, Sept. 5, 1999, in Fort Smith, Ark. She married William Marvin GRAY March 10, 1951, in Nevada. He preceded her in death. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Gene; and Debbie and Richard; one brother, William; three grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.  Mrs. GRAY was also preceded in death by one son, Keith GRAY in 1996; one sister, Della BERGER; and her parents. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Estes Funeral Home in Salem, Ark.

Funeral services for Eula L. NEWELL, 90, of Fort Smith, Ark., will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Putman Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith.  Burial will be in the U. S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, under the direction of Putman Funeral Home in Fort Smith.  Mrs. NEWELL died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 1999, in a local nursing home.  Survivors include three sons, Walter, Wayne and James; one sister, Helen; and 11 grandchildren.  

Funeral services for Verna SPECK, 91, of Gore are being held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Webbers Falls, with the Rev. Glen Cox officiating.  Burial is in Round Mountain Cemetery, east of Gore, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Gore.  Ms. SPECK was born June 15, 1908, in Newton County, Ark., to Harry and Viola (LUNSFORD) SPENCER.  She died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 1999, in Fort Smith, Ark. She married Calvin Clayton HAMILTON May 29, 1959, in Reno, Nev. Survivors include her husband, Calvin HAMILTON of Hercules; one sister, Mary Virginia; and one brother, Clayton. She died  Wednesday, Sept. 22, 1999, in Sallisaw.  Survivors include one son, Jerry; and five grandchildren; Mrs. MABRY was preceded in death by her husband, Nick MABRY Feb. 17, 1995, in Fort Smith, Ark.; one son, Jay BLACKWELL; and her parents. Cremation is under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw.

Funeral services for William Wallace "Bill" MATHEWS, 67, of Roland were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Victory Temple Pentecostal Church in Roland, with the Rev. Andy O'Neal officiating. Burial was in Seabolt Cemetery, northeast of Muldrow, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Muldrow. Mr. MATHEWS was born Jan. 5, 1932, in Tahlequah, to Bob and Vady (DENNEY) MATHEWS. He died Friday, Sept. 24, 1999, at his home.  He married Lorene M. QUALLS March 15, 1976, in Stilwell. Survivors include his wife, Lorene M. MATHEWS of the home; one stepson, Richie; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Pauline.

Funeral services for Allene REMER, 66, of Sallisaw were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sallisaw, with the Rev. Jeff Polasek officiating.  Burial was at 1 p.m. in Spiro City Cemetery, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw.  Mrs. REMER was born Oct. 22, 1932, in Spiro, to Tate and Edith (AMOS) WILSON. She died Sunday, Sept. 26, 1999, in Sallisaw. Survivors include two grandchildren, Bobbie Joe and Terry Jo; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Caroline; one sister-in-law, Betty Jo; and two aunts, Beulah and Lois. Mrs. REMER was preceded in death by  one daughter, Pamela Sue BARNES in 1969; and one son, Bobby TOM in 1986.

Graveside services for Nellie Louise RHOADES, 66, of Sallisaw were held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Sallisaw City Cemetery, with Bro. David Littlejohn and Bro John Littlejohn officiating.  Mrs. RHOADES was born March 17, 1933, in Chroudant, La., to Leymon Alldean AULDS and Ruby Lillian (HENDRICKS) AULDS ROBERTS. She died Thursday, Sept. 23, 1999, in Fort Smith, Ark. She married Forrest S. RHOADES JR. June 17, 1949, in Oklahoma City. He preceded her in death May 9, 1981.  Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Brenda Sue and Anthony; one son and daughter-in-law, Eddy and Dianne; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; her mother, Ruby; one sister, Melba; one brother, Monty; and special friend, John. Arrangements were under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw.  

Funeral services for Carmel WILLIAMS, 85, of Fort Smith, Ark., were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith. Burial was in Peters Cemetery, north of Alma, Ark., under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith. Mrs. WILLIAMS died Friday, Sept. 24, 1999, in a local hospital.  Survivors include one daughter, Betty; four sons, Thomas R., Jack, Ernest and Arlin; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
