Funeral services for Benjamin "Hobie" "Brother" BENTON, Jr., 63, of Muldrow, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Sallisaw with Rev. J.D. Jones officiating. Burial will be in Centerpoint Cemetery in Redland, under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. Benton was born Nov. 9, 1942, in Foreman, to Benjamin BENTON, Jr. and Wynona WARE. He died Friday, Nov. 25, 2005, in Fort Smith, Ark. Survivors include his wife, Effie BENTON of the home; two daughters, Janet, Rhonda and husband German; one son, Chris; two sisters, LeaEtta and Minnie; one brother, Charles; father, Benjamin BENTON, Sr.; two grandchildren; mother-in-law, Ruby Lee TAYLOR; one aunt, Dorothy; four sisters-in-law, Shirley, Wanda, Marilyn and Sandra; four brothers-in-law, Steve, I. G., Donald and Chester; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Wynona and sister, Beulah BENTON.

Cremation for Kenneth BETHARDS, Jr., 54, of Sallisaw was under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Cremains to be buried at Lawnview Cemetery at a later date in Dallas. Mr. BETHARDS was born Aug. 13, 1951, in Los Angeles, to Kenneth Littleton BETHARDS and Alma Clair (MASON) BETHARDS. He died Friday, Nov. 25, 2005, in Sallisaw. Survivors include his parents, of the home; one sister, Janice Lynn; two brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Vera and Dennis and Renee; and many nieces and nephews and friends.

Funeral services for T. J. BRIDGEWATER, 71, of Sallisaw, were held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Eastside Baptist Church in Sallisaw with Rev. Steve Rutherford officiating. Burial was in Sallisaw City Cemetery, with graveside rites conducted by the Sallisaw Masonic Lodge, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. BRIDGEWATER was born Sept. 13, 1934, in Corning, Ark., to Thomas James Oral BRIDGEWATER and Beulah (JAMES) BRIDGEWATER. He died Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005, in Sallisaw. He married Inez TURMAN, Jan. 5, 1955, in Poteau.  Survivors include his wife, Inez BRIDGEWATER of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Elaine; three grandchildren; one great-grandson; three sisters, Evelyn, Shirley and Patsy; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Adale BRIDGEWATER PINSON in 1978.

Graveside services for Bobby Stone HUNT, 75, of Davy, were held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at New Hope Cemetery in Spiro under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Spiro. Mr. HUNT was born March 6, 1930, in Wagoner County, to Ralph HUNT and May (MITCHELL) HUNT. He died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005, in Roanoke, W.Va. Survivors include four daughters, Shirley, Rachel, Victoria and Melinda; two sons, Ralph and Robert; two sisters, Rosie and Ruby ; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; 20 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Alice NOBLE, Mary OWENS and Helen HARRIS, six brothers, Loyd, ROLLEY, Curtis, Melvin, Paul and Jesse HUNT and an adopted daughter, Linda BOWEN.

Memorial services for Richard L. "Dick" IRWIN, 70, of Sallisaw, were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Agent Chapel in Sallisaw with Rev. Brian Zinck officiating. Cremation was under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. IRWIN was born Nov. 1, 1935, in Indianapolis. He died Thursday, Nov. 24, 2005, in Fort Smith, Ark. He married Willa June KELSEY, Jan. 29, 1971, in Leawood, Kan. She preceded him in death, Aug. 31, 2005, in Fort Smith.  Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis and Terry; one son, Richard E.; one sister, Patricia; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for James Paul LEE, 90, of Muldrow, are being held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Muldrow with Revs. Monte Johnson and Connie Gibson officiating. Burial is in Lee's Chapel Cemetery, south of Muldrow, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Muldrow. Mr. LEE was born March 15, 1915, in Cottonwood Community, to Wash LEE and Ellen (TAYLOR) LEE. He died Monday, Nov. 28, 2005, in Fort Smith, Ark. He married Sybil Olene PEMBERTON, Sept. 28, 1940, in Muldrow. Survivors include his wife, Sybil LEE of the home; two daughters and one son-in-law, Peggy and Donnie, and Glenda; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Emma and Joyce; and one brother, Wash , Jr.  He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Lucille LYONS and Marie SCRIVNER, two brothers, Herbert and Ed LEE and one grandson, Chris COLEMAN.

Funeral services for Michael M. McKINNEY, 24, of Sallisaw, are being held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Mallory-Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Mr. McINNEY was born Dec. 31, 1980, in Hayward, Calif., to Charles McKINNEY and Cynthia PINOLI. He died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2005, in Roland. Survivors include one daughter, Zoe; one brother, Steven; parents, Chuck and Cindy McKINNEY; and a girl friend, April

Funeral services for Mary M. PROCTOR, 53, of Muldrow, were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Fellowship Baptist Church, north of Muldrow, with Rev. Ed Baker officiating. Burial was in Upper Camp Creek Cemetery in, northeast of Muldrow, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Muldrow. Mrs. PROCTOR was born June 30, 1952, in Oklahoma, to Samuel Robert JONES and Elizabeth Tabitha WATERS JONES. She died Friday, Nov. 25, 2005, in Apple Valley, Calif. Survivors include one daughter, Kimberly; one son, Richard Duane; three sisters, Julie and Delois and Margaret; three brothers, Robert, Harlen and Harold; 13 grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.

Mrs. Noma STITES, a lifelong resident of Sequoyah County and an active member of the community, died Saturday, November 26, 2005, in Springfield, Mo. Funeral services were held at 1 p m Wednesday, November 30, at Immanuel Baptist Church in Sallisaw. The Revs Terry Guthrie and Herbert Lee, and Bro Keith Tatham officiated. Burial followed in Buffington Cemetery, west of Sallisaw, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Mrs. STITES, 81, and her twin sister, Oma, were born to John William TIMMERMAN and Sally Elizabeth (McKINNEY) TIMMERMAN on June 7,1 924, in the Harrison community. Mrs. STITES married Theodore McKinley "Ted" STITES, on March 12, 1942, in Sallisaw. He preceded his wife in death on Jan. 21, 1983, when he died in Fort Smith, Ark. Survivors include five daughters, Margaret, Ann, Carla, Vicki and Beth; four sons, Melvin, William, Roger and Charles; one sister, Madie; 21 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. Mrs. STITES was preceded in death by one son, Tommy; by her twin, Oma TATHAM, in February 2002; two brothers, Dale and Arch TIMMERMAN; a half-brother, Walter COMPTON; and three half-sisters, Jessie COMPTON, Bonnie LEIGH and Callie HOLLAND.

Burial of cremains was in Fanshawe Cemetery, under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren, Ark. Mr. HERRINGTON died Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005, in Tulsa. Survivors include three daughters, Meshelle, Christina and Sarah; one son, Michael; one sister, Wilma; four brothers, Dewey, Thomas, John and Joe; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmett and Nancy (DAVIS) HERRINGTON and one brother, Cecil.

Graveside services for Gorman O'NEAL, 79, of Van Buren, Ark., formerly of Sallisaw from about 1965 to 1981, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Oakland Cemetery in Clarksville, Ark., under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home of Clarksville. Mr. O'NEAL was born Nov. 6, 1926, in Clarksville, to Omer Lee and Carrie Mae (PETERS) O'NEAL. He died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005, in Fayetteville, Ark. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy O'NEAL of Franklin, Ark.; two daughters, Debbie and Zelinda; two sisters, Hazel and Audrey; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Reggie O'NEAL and two brothers, Boyd and Troy O'NEAL.

Memorial services for Clarence D. RUNYAN, 73, of Sallisaw, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Agent Chapel in Sallisaw with Rev. Ed Cunningham officiating. Cremation will be under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. Runyan was born Jan. 7, 1932, in Hay Springs, Neb., to William Edward RUNYAN and Sadie (KUTCHERA) RUNYAN. He died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005, in Sallisaw. He married Leta Mae KETCHER, Oct. 27, 1954, in Tahlequah. Survivors include his wife, Leta RUNYAN of the home; four sons, Jeff, Jim, Gary and Bill; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Mary LaPORT and his brother, Arlo RUNYAN.

Graveside services for Vernon Wilbur SIFFING, 87, of Fort Gibson, are being held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Vian with Rev. Jim Murphy officiating under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. SIFFING was born May 11, 1918, in Vian, to Charles SIFFING and Addie SIFFING. He died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2005, in Fort Gibson. He married Saxon FINK, in 1942, in Siloam Springs. She preceded him in death, July 22, 2004, in Tulsa. Survivors include one granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Erin K. and David T.; two sisters-in-law, Brookie and Betty; and one brother-in-law, Talmage.  He was preceded in death by his parents, twin brother, Wayne SIFFING and two sons, Philip J. and Terry W. SIFFING.

Funeral services for Charles Wayne TAYLOR, 75, of Sallisaw, was held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Agent Chapel in Sallisaw with Monroe Lowrimore officiating. Burial was in Buffington Cemetery in Sallisaw, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. TAYLOR was born Nov. 25, 1930, in McKey Community, to James Felix TAYLOR and Mellie (EDGEMON) TAYLOR. He died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2005, in Fort Smith, Ark. He married Bonnie BEAM, March 25, 1948, in Sallisaw. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie TAYLOR of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Roger; two sons, James and Timothy; one mother-in-law, Pearl BEAM; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Dennis and Donny TAYLOR, one sister, Cherokee BREWER, one brother, Cleo TAYLOR and one grandson, Jimmy Don COATNEY.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Brian, Chris, Robert and Troy; two daughters, Sandra and Tina; two brothers, Wesley Charles and Roy; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Burial was in Ellis Chapel Cemetery in Wister, under the direction of Evans and Miller Funeral Home of Poteau. Mr. BROWN was born March 20, 1925, in Poteau. He died Friday, Dec. 2, 2005, in Poteau. Survivors include his wife, Melba (PHILLIPS) BROWN of the home; five sons, Dennie Lee, Bobby Darrell, Donald Gene, Danny Darwin and Denver "Dub"; one daughter, Charlotte Ann; five sisters, Tommie, Minnie, Permelia, Virginia and Molly; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; numerous other relatives and loved ones; and a host of beloved friends.

Burial was in Locke Cemetery in Mountainburg, with full military honors, under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma, Ark. Mr. DONALDSON was born April 21, 1943, in Tulare, Calif. He died Monday, Dec. 5, 2005, in Mountainburg. Survivors include his wife, Beverly DONALDSON of the home; three daughters, Charlotte, Connie and Lana; two sons, Jim and Scott DONALDSON of Kent, Wash.; two sisters, Judy and Audrey; three brothers, Fines and Sherman and J. C.; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Allie (RUSSELL) DONALDSON, one sister, Imogene ROBBINS and two brothers, Loyd DONALDSON and Roy James DONALDSON.

She died Sunday, Dec. 4, 2005, in Fort Smith. Survivors include her husband, George of the home; three daughters, Sherry, Kyndall and Krystal; one son, G.; one brother, Clayton; and six grandchildren.

Funeral services for Wilma Dean MARTIN DYER, 63, of Muldrow, were held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Roland Assembly of God Church with Rev. Kevin Fouts officiating. Burial was in Cottonwood Cemetery, south of Muldrow, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Muldrow. Mrs. DYER was born March 23, 1942, in Sallisaw, to Harvey MARTIN and Catherine (LESSLEY) MARTIN. She died Saturday, Dec. 3, 2005, in Fort Smith, Ark. She married William Dale DYER, June 20, 1978, in Poteau. He preceded her in death, Feb. 8, 1997, in Fort Smith, Ark.  Survivors include one daughter, Leslie; two step-daughters and step-sons-in-law, Tammy and Van, and Sandra and Rodney; three sons, Justin, Bradley and Wesley; two step-sons and step-daughters-in-law, Billy Ray and Diane, and Kendall and JoAnn; two sisters, Shirley and Charlotte; 19 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Jeff DAVIS, one step-son, Gary DYER, one great-granddaughter, Bradleigh DAVIS and one brother, Harvey Ed MARTIN.

Burial was in the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Ark., under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Muldrow. Mrs. HORTON was born Oct. 5, 1918, in Muldrow, to Walter "Eef" FARGO and Lula Lou (RAMEY) FARGO. She died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005, in Fort Smith. She married Wallace Jenkins HORTON, Sept. 30, 1939, in Muldrow. He preceded her in death, Feb. 12, 1986, in Muldrow.  Survivors include two daughters, Wally and Nita Jo; one son, Bil; six grandchildren;  three great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Juanita FARGO DICKERSON and one brother, Walter Mayes FARGO.

Burial was in Akins Cemetery in Sallisaw, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mrs. LUSTER was born Jan. 15, 1947, in Bakersfield, Calif., to William Herman CLARK and Juanita May (McGREW) CLARK. She died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2005, in Sallisaw. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Rachelle and Michael, Sr.; four grandchildren; two sisters, Carolyn and Pawnee; and six brothers, Paul, Carl, Harvey, Danny, Richard and Donald. She was preceded in death by one sister, Virginia LILLY and one brother, James CLARK.

Graveside services for Jesse REICHERT, 87, of Van Buren, Ark., was held at 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Gill Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren. Mr. REICHERT died Friday, Dec. 2, 2005, in a local hospital. Survivors include one daughter, Phyllis and her husband Bob; one son, Ronnie; one son-in-law, Jim; three sisters, Josie, Bet and Delores; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine and one daughter Clara COX.

Funeral services for Margaret HEUSS VASS, 96, of Sallisaw, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Agent Chapel in Sallisaw with Rev. Diana Hartman officiating  Burial of cremains will be in Sallisaw City Cemetery, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mrs. VASS was born Dec. 6, 1908, in Anderson, Ind., to Adolph HEUSS and Mary (FARBER) HEUSS. She died Sunday, Dec. 4, 2005, in Sallisaw. She married John Donald VASS, Dec. 27, 1935, in Illinois. He preceded her in death, Jan. 27, 1987, in Sallisaw.  Survivors include one daughter, Elizabeth; and one son, William.

Steve Rutherford officiating under the direction of Hillier Funeral Home of Bryan. Mrs. Coolidge was born Jan. 3, 1920, in Sallisaw, to Claude Thomas HALL and Mary Jane (JOHNSTON) HALL. She died Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2005, in Bryan. Survivors include one daughter, Carolyn Grace; one brother, Thomas; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two husbands, B.C. O'Neal GIBBS and Frank COOLIDGE as well as a great-great-grandchild, Bryston MILLER.

Burial was in New Cemetery in Mulberry, Ark., under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith. Mrs. EDWARDS died Sunday, Dec. 4, 2005, in Fort Smith. Survivors include her husband, Cecil EDWARDS of Fort Smith; one daughter, Melissa Ann; two sons, Phillip Winfield and William Scott; one sister, Norma; two brothers, Eddie and J.C.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Mr. JOHNSON was born June 19, 1958, in Hawthorne, Calif., to Jack JOHNSON and Bonnie (BROWN) JOHNSON. He died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2005, in Roland. Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Heather, and Brenda and Mark; mother, Bonnie JOHNSON; two sisters, Jackie and Tammy; two brothers, Johnny and Paul; two grandsons.

Funeral services for Ruth Katherine WOODWARD, 85, of Muldrow, were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Eastside Freewill Baptist Church in Muldrow with Rev. Anthony Williams officiating. Burial was in Long Cemetery, north of Muldrow, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Muldrow. Mrs. WOODWARD was born May 20, 1920, in Muldrow, to Riley WILSON and Norma (LESSLEY) WILSON. She died Dec. 7, 2005, in Roland. She married Wayne Willard WOODWARD, May 30, 1940, in Redland. He preceded her in death, June 25, 1988, in Sallisaw. Survivors include one daughter, Phyllis; two sons, Jerrell and Rick; two sisters, Faye and Gene; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He died Friday, Dec. 9, 2005, in Sallisaw. Survivors include one daughter, Denine; three sons, Ralph, David and Adam; parents, Sherman and Wilma BIRCHFIELD; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Arnold Gene BIRCHFIELD.

Mr. CHAPMAN was born June 26, 1943, in Van Buren, to Bud L. and Eva (TITSWORTH) CHAPMAN. He died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2005, in Alma. Survivors include his wife, Martha CHAPMAN of the home; two daughters, Rebekah and Tanya; three sons, Derek, Dan and David; two sisters, Joann and Carolyn; three brothers, Charles, Dave and Jimmy; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services for David Winston MILLER, 84, of Tulsa, were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Arrow under the direction of Floral Haven Funeral Home of Broken Arrow. Mr. MILLER was born Jan. 17, 1921, in Vian, to Robert Lee MILLER and Maybell (LEDBETTER) MILLER. He died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2005. He married Thelma Virginia COOK, April 25, 1943, in Stilwell. Survivors include his wife, Thelma MILLER; two sons, Gary Lee and wife Jackie May, and David Daryl and wife Marsha Lynn; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, W.D., Delbert and Jack; one sister, Mary Katherine; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, June MORTON and brother Robert MILLER.

Mrs. HENDRICKSON was born April 8, 1921, in Mulberry, Ark., to Roy Lee and Trucie (TURNER) SHELBY. She died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2005, in Gore. She married Gilbert HENDRICKSON April 22, 1939, in Gore. COLE, July 3, 1955, in Muldrow. Mrs. GUTHRIE was born Jan. 30, 1915, in Noble, to George Harvey MOON and Eliza Jane (GLENN) MOON. She died Thursday, Dec. 22, 2005, in Sallisaw. She married T.L. PENDERGRASS. He preceded her in death in 1979. She then married Tom GUTHRIE and he preceded her in death in 1992. Survivors include two daughters, Theda Marie and Joy Diann; two sons, Paul and Ned; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She died Saturday, Dec. 24, 2005, in Muskogee. Mrs. BOYD and her husband, Reverend Bill BOYD shared 65 years in full gospel ministry. Survivors include her husband, Bill BOYD of the home; two sons, Gary, Anthony and his wife Laura; three daughters, Sandra, LaLand, and Hali and husband Jim; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clell and Cora (MORRISON) RICHMOND, three brothers, Jack, James and Charles and one sister, Jean.
