Funeral services for Geneva B. BASLER, 83, of Sallisaw, were held at 10 a.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church in Sallisaw with Dr. David Clewell officiating. Burial was in the Sallisaw City Cemetery, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mrs. BASLER was born Aug. 19, 1925, in Sallisaw, to John Franklin BURNS and Pearl Mae (PETREE) BURNS. She died Wednesday, June 24, 2009, in Roland. Survivors include three daughters, Elaine, Judy and Vicky; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Barbara, Dixie and Ruth; one brother, Homer; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Deemal Simpson “Peanut” BROOKS, 89, of Upland, Calif., formerly of Sallisaw, were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Bellevue Mausoleum-west end chapel in Ontario, Calif. Burial will follow, under the direction of Stone Funeral Home of Upland. Mr. BROOKS was born May 12, 1920, in Cookson. He died Thursday, June 25, 2009, in Upland. Survivors include three children, John, Doris and Ray, and Jim; one sister, Martha Sue LOSSON; and one grandson, Jim Anthony BROOKS.

Graveside services for Kenny Alan DYE, 48, of Fort Smith, Ark., were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Roland City Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Murphy officiating, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Roland. Mr. Dye was born July 8, 1960, in Fort Smith, to Robert Eugene DYE and Ethel Maggie (KASEY) DYE. He died Wednesday, June 24, 2009, in Fort Smith. He married Ellen PULLIAM, June 27, 1990, in Fort Smith. She preceded him in death, May 28, 2007, in Fort Smith. Survivors include one sister, Connie; two brothers, Bobby and Don; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Elaine GAREGORY.

Burial was in Blackjack Cemetery, in Muldrow, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Muldrow.Mrs. GONZALES was born Nov. 25, 1954, in Davidson, to Albert CORDOVA Sr. and Clotilda VASQUEZ. She died Thursday, June 25, 2009, in Muldrow. She married David GONZALES, May 15, 1974, in Clinton. Survivors include her husband, David of the home; four daughters, Meshelle, Amy, Alicia, and Amanda; nine grandchildren; three sisters, Tina, Elma and Helen; seven brothers, Albert Jr., Anthony, Armondo and Aubrey, Jay, Alonzo and James.

She died Wednesday, June 24, 2009, in Sallisaw. Funeral services for Rayburn C. JONES, 83, of Muldrow, were held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Eastside Freewill Baptist Church in Muldrow with the Rev. Anthony Williams officiating. Burial was in Muldrow Memory Garden, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Muldrow. Mr. JONES was born March 1, 1926, in Eldorado, to Luther JONES and Pearl SHOOK. He died Thursday, June 25, 2009, in Fort Smith, Ark. He married Nadine CLEVELAND, Nov. 8, 1947, in Tulsa. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Nadine of the home; two daughters and one son-in-law, Carol and Bob, and Janet; three grandsons; two great-granddaughters and two more on the way; and several other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Don JONES.

LEE, 86, of Ozark, Ark., formerly of Sallisaw, are being held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Harmony Presbyterian Church with the Revs. Tracy Jeulian and Pastor Robert Eyres officiating. Burial is in Highland Cemetery, in Ozark, under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark. Dr. LEE was born Sept. 19, 1922, in Ozark, to Charles LEE and Essie (SHAMBLIN) LEE. He died Thursday, June 25, 2009, in Muskogee. His first wife, Connie LEE, who preceded him in death. Survivors include four step-daughters, Renee, Mary, Vicki and Ann; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his second wife, Alice J. LEE.

Mr. PLANK was born March 21, 1971, in Fort Smith, Ark., to Kenneth PLANK and Marilyn (KREMERS) PLANK. He died Saturday, June 27, 2009, in Muldrow. Survivors include her husband, Dale QUALLS of the home; mother; two daughters, Regina and her husband, Jim, and Teresa and her husband, David; two step-daughters, LaDonna, and Melinda and her husband, Steve; three nephews; two great-nieces; four great-nephews; two uncles, Edward and his wife and Pat; two sisters, Sharon, and Nancy and her husband, Mike; two brothers, Johnny and his wife, Janna, and Donald and his wife, Faye; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one aunt, Louise. Willia Dean SLATTERY, 71, of Muldrow, died on Friday, June 26, 2009, Muldrow. No formal service is planned and cremation is under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mrs. SLATTERY was born March 23, 1938, in Rietchie, to Tom HAYES and Gracie (STEVENS) HAYES. She married Cliff Leo SLATTERY, June 29, 2001, in Winter, S.D. Survivors include her husband, Cliff of the home; two daughters, Rhonda and Sheila; one son and daughter-in-law, Parnell and Karen; one step-son; one step-daughter; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Graveside services for Charley D. WALLACE, 73, of Sallisaw, are being held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Dwight Mission Cemetery, west of Sallisaw, with Rev. Vernon Stone officiating, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. Wallace was born April 17, 1936, in Marble City, to Charley Colombus WALLACE and Mae (SCOTT) WALLACE. He died Sunday, June 28, 2009, in Sallisaw. He married Theatus PHIPPS, Aug. 28, 1954, in Anderson, Calif.. Survivors include his wife, Theatus of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Charley and Vicky; one daughter, Thea; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including nephew, George and niece, Dawn.

Mr. WOFFORD was born July 29, 1925, in Sallisaw, to Ben WOFFORD Sr. and Cordia Lee SALLEE. He died Monday, June 29, 2009, in Fort Smith. He married Sybil Pauline SHIFLETT, June 12, 1946, in Fort Smith. Survivors include his wife, Sybil of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Julie and Don, and Bennie and Darrell; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several other relatives and friends.

Mrs. COLE was born Feb. 20, 1925, in Porum, to George and Bessie COSPER. She died Tuesday, June 30, 2009. She married John Ander “Jay” COLE, May 28, 1943, in Talihina. Survivors include four daughters, Carol and her husband, Thomas, Wanda, and Janet, and Alura “Jody” and her husband, George; three sons, Ronny and his wife, Rebecca, and Kenny and his wife, Linda and Greg; two sons-in-law, David and Jerry; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, William Wallace “Pete” COSPER, Jesse James COCKE and George Robert COSPER, two daughters, Alveda “Javine” COCKE and Sherry Louine “Tootie” TROUTMAN and granddaughter, Krishna Lean WALTERS and great-grandson, Kayne Tyler HALL.

Mr. FINNEY was born March 13, 1928, in Webbers Falls, to Mansfield FINNEY Sr. and Emma Daisy (MARTIN) FINNEY. He died Thursday, June 25, 2009. He married Frances SMITH, June 25, 1956, in Vian. Survivors include his wife, Frances FINNEY of the home; his children, William Edward and Gloria, Gladys Marie and Willie, Patricia and Rev. Kent, Deborah and Robert, Frances Anita, and Brenda and Michael, Linda and Emmanuel, and Bruce; four brothers, Cephus, Mansfield Jr., Jackie L. and Hazel, and Cary; eight sisters, Dorothy Jean, Marie and Betty, Lorene, Dollie Maxine and Edward, Sherry, Virginia and Jimmy, and Jacqueline; 18 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Mr. DAVIS was born Dec. 30, 1940, in Brunswick, Md., to Leo DAVIS and Rose Marie (CARROLL) DAVIS. He died Monday, July 6, 2009, in Vian. He married Wanda Ruth WHATLEY, Nov. 23, 1986, in Harrah. Survivors include his wife, Wanda DAVIS; two daughters and sons-in-law, Tina and Ross, and Pamela and Mark; one step-daughter and son-in-law, Annette and Jeff; one step-son, Russell; four granddaughters; four grandsons; and three great-granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert DAVIS.

Burial was in Roland City Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith. Mr. ELKINS died Wednesday, July 1, 2009, in Fort Smith. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Barbara; one son, Danny Keith and his wife, Linda; two sisters, Rhonda and Faye; and one granddaughter. He was preceded in death by one son, Bill Alan ELKINS.

She died Tuesday, June 30, 2009, in Muldrow. Mrs. FREE was a homemaker. She married Winter Dee FREE, Jan. 11, 1993, in Fort Smith. Survivors include her husband, Winter Dee FREE of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Kevin; parents, Harlis COOK and Florence WATKINS; one brother, Gene; two grandchildren; and several relatives and friends.

Burial was in Stilwell City Cemetery, under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell. Mr. Williams was born April 7, 1930, in Chandler, to Ulysses WILLIAMS and Ruby Merle (NEWMAN) WILLIAMS. He died Sunday, July 5, 2009, in Bunch. He married Fonda PINION, Dec. 1953, in Oklahoma City. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Fonda Pinion WILLIAMS, of the home; three sons, David Jr., Gary, and Scott and his wife, Tammy; four daughters, Kay and her husband, Ronald, Lesa and Mike, Gina and her husband, Jody, and Vicki and her husband, John; 19 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Vernon Clayton and his wife, Glenda, and Buell and his wife, Sharon; one sister, Norma June and her husband, Azle; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Mario Christopher HALL 30, of Checotah died Monday, June 22, 2009 in Houston. Mr. HALL was born March 31, 1979 in Sallisaw. He married Amber Elizabeth ANDREWS in Houston. Survivors include his wife, Amber HALL l of the home; daughters, Lilian and BobbiJo; his parents, Hollis and Deanna HALL; his mother, Sally HATFIELD; sisters, Holli and her husband, Adam, Heather, and Crystal and Toni; and his three nephews.

Funeral services for J.T. McKINNEY, 75, of Muskogee, are being held at 10 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in Gore with the Rev. Don Chaffin officiating. Burial is in Box Cemetery, in Vian, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. McKINNEY was born Feb. 21, 1934, in Pryor, to George McKINNEY and Ruby (FINCH) McKINNEY. He died Wednesday, July 8, 2009, in Muskogee. He married Phyllis Rae PAULK, July 19, 1963, in Oklahoma City. She preceded him in death, July 4, 1998, in Memphis, Tenn. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Tim; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Dee, and Kevan and Sharon; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jack and Gene; and several other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Rosalea CARTER and Barbara LYNN.

Funeral services for LaDonna Mae PHILLIPS, 85, of Sallisaw, are being held at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Agent Chapel in Sallisaw with Terry Hatcher officiating. Cremation is under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mrs. PHILLIPS was born Sept. 3, 1923, in Pemberton, Ohio, to John HATCHER and Melva (COVAULT) HATCHER. She died Thursday, July 9, 2009, in Fort Smith, Ark. She married Clarence Edward “Buzz” PHILLIPS, April 29, 1944, in Sidney, Ohio. He preceded her in death, Dec. 14, 1990, in Saranac, Mich. Survivors include one daughter, Phyllis; one son, Richard Stacy; one step-daughter, Peggy; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother and two sisters.

Mr. KELLEY was born March 5, 1931 in Muldrow to Walter KELLEY and Addie (BROCK) KELLEY. He died Sunday, July 12, 2009, in Oklahoma City.  He married Wanda Jo ROGERS in 1952 in Van Buren, Ark. She preceded him in death Dec. 13, 1987, in Sallisaw. Survivors include one daughter, Mary Jane; two sons, Reginald and Alan; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Troy and Edgar, and Graden; one sister, Joy Mae; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Walter Franklin MONTGOMERY, 64, of Sallisaw were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau with Steve Ellison officiating. Burial was in Greenhill Cemetery in Cameron under the direction of Evans and Miller Funeral Home of Poteau. Mr. MONTGOMERY was born Nov. 1, 1944 in Walls to Jim and Vera (BATTLES) MONTGOMERY. He died July 9, 2009, in Sallisaw. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Dewayne and Kalley, and Jeff and Rhonda; one daughter and son-in-law, Alisha and Tommy; six grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Lonnie and Harold MONTGOMERY, and a daughter, Mary Ellen MONTGOMERY.

Mrs. STILL was born Feb. 2, 1924, in Stilwell to Charley and Lucy (COCHRAN) JOHNSON. She died Saturday July 11, 2009, in Warner.  Survivors include her children, Dorothy and Sidney, Cherokee, Fredia, and Katie and Jim, Shirley and Tom, Jerry Lynn and Geno , and Jane; four brothers, Denver Lee, and Sammy Joe and his wife Linda, Kenny Wayne and Connie, and Henry; one sister, Mary Jane and Ed; 14 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Rudy SUTTLES of the home; one daughter, Kim and her husband, Tomas; one son, Chad and his wife Bryanna; her parents, William and Lillian COMSTROCK; one brother, Charles R.; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services for Viola THOMPSON, 95, of Dewey, formerly of Sallisaw, were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Sallisaw City Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Sallisaw.  Mrs. THOMPSON was born on Nov. 25, 1913 in Rush Springs to Frank GOINS and Nannie (WILLIAMS) GOINS. She died Thursday, July 9, 2009, in Dewey. She was survived by three nieces Shonda, Shirley, and Sharon; and two nephews, Jim, and Cody. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Frank Marion GOINS.

Burial was in the Sallisaw City Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mrs. TUNNELL was born May 10, 1923, in Booneville, Miss., to Henry H. COLEMAN and Mary (SMITH) COLEMAN. She died Thursday, July 9, 2009, in Fort Smith, Ark. Survivors include six daughters, Carolyn Suse, Evelyn Lou, Patricia Lynn, Hoann, Debra Jane, and Frankie Aileen; three sisters, Mary, Jane, and Vera; 18 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Garnish TUNNELL, one granddaughter, Gloria Jean BRANHAM, two sisters and three brothers.

Burial was in Greenleaf Cemetery under the direction of Reed-Culver Funeral Home of Tahlequah. Mr. ROSS was born July 2, 1953, in Gore to Stanley Lee ROSS Sr. and Nellie (WILDCAT) ROSS. He died Monday, July 13, 2009, in Tulsa.  Survivors include one son, Brandon; 10 brothers, Jim and his wife, Carol, and Billy Joe, Don and his wife, Cindy, and John, Gerald L. and his wife, Donna, and Richard, Stanley L. Jr. and his wife, Trish, and John L. and his wife, Sandy, Steve R., and Earl and his wife Kelly; and four sisters, Janet and Caleb, and Betty and her husband, Mike, Rebecca Ann and her husband, Steve, and Joan L. and her husband, Chris.  He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother, Neva ROSS, stepfather Taylor PIGEON and one brother, Robert G. McGLURG.

Burial is in Buffington Cemetery, under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Sallisaw. He was born April 6, 2008, in Fort Smith, Ark., to Rusty WATERS and Jody (COLLINS) WATERS. He died Monday, July 13, 2009, in Little Rock. She married Charles Edward WOODY May 30, 1956, in Sallisaw. He preceded her in death May 25, 1990 in Sallisaw. Survivors include one brother, Arvil; two sisters, Connie and Debbie; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by her mother, Elsie (NcNATT) MEADOWS and her grandparents who adopted and raised her, Jim and Charity McNATT and three brothers, Bob, Jimmy, and Dale MEADOWS.

Mr. BLACKBIRD was born Oct. 28, 1958, in Tahlequah, to Coming BLACKBIRD and Ruthie (LOCUST) BLACKBIRD. He died Saturday, July 18, 2009, in Vian. Survivors include four sisters, Lucy, Irene, and Suzanna and Josie; five brothers, George, John, James, Jim, and Eli; and parents. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert LOCUST and John E. BLACKBIRD.

She died Tuesday, July 21, 2009, in Fort Smith, Ark. Survivors include one daughter, Amy; one son, Brad; one sister, Joyce and her husband, Herbert; six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Roy NARD and one granddaughter, Mika LECKIE.

She preceded him in death, Sept. 7, 2004 in Sallisaw. Survivors include one daughter, Velma; two sons, Floyd and Bill; nine grandchildren; birth mother, Leah SALLEE; four sisters, Wilma, Rebecca, Velma and Beverly; two brothers, Buck and Vernon; eight other brothers and sisters; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
