Funeral services for Evelyn Nora (FARGO) MIZE, 87, of Muldrow will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, at the First Baptist Church in Muldrow, with Kevin R. Lubbe and Cory George officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Muldrow, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Muldrow. She was born Aug 23, 1915, in Muldrow to LaFate FARGO and Nancy Ann (MILLSPAUGH) FARGO. She died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003, in Muldrow. She married Charley Edward MIZE in Dec. 1933. Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Charley MIZE of the home; two daughters,  Virginia and Melba; four grandsons; nine great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Ruby, Loretta and Layonne; and one brother-in-law, Robinson.

Funeral services for Louis Benjamin SORENSON, 68, of Sallisaw, are being held at 2 p.m. Saturday, at the Mallory Chapel in Sallisaw, with Pastor Vanoy Fitch officiating. Burial is in Akins Cemetery, northeast of Sallisaw, under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Sallisaw. He was born July 7, 1934, in Coweta, to Sam SORENSON and Ruth (PIFER) SORENSON. He died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003, in Sallisaw. He married Barbara Jane CODY on March 21, 1955. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Barbara SORENSON of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Helen Juanell and her husband Vic; two sons and daughters-in-law, Billy Joe and his wife Rachel and Jackie Louis and his wife Jackie; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Kenneth and Bill.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Shirley PROFILE and Mary POTTER.

Viola Mae "Jackie" ADAMS, 71, of Sallisaw, died Tuesday, March 4, 2003, in Fort Smith, Ark. Burial was in the Rocky Point Cemetery north of Sallisaw, under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Sallisaw. She was born May 1, 1931, in Shawnee, to Eugene Author McCALL and Cora Era WILCOX. Survivors include her husband, Billy Joe ADAMS of Coca Beach, Fla.; one daughter, Christina and David; three sons, Donald H. A., David B. and Robert M. and Anita; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one daughter-in-law, Leanne. She was preceded in death by one son, Billy E. ADAMS.

Funeral services for Richard ANDERSON, 78, of Warner, were held at 2 p.m. Monday, at the First Baptist Church in Warner with Dr. Eli Sheldon officiating. Burial was in Warner Memorial Cemetery, under the direction of Millsap Funeral Service of Webbers Falls. He married Clista NICHOLSON on Oct 4, 1952, in Van Buren, Ark. Survivors include his wife, Clista ANDERSON of the home; one son, Richard Lynn; one daughter and son-in-law, Watheneah and Tommy; one grandson; one brother, George Jr.; one sister, Dessie; and 14 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Richard Lloyd ANDERSON; three brothers, Johnny, Tommy and Dennis ANDERSON and one sister, Elsie PEMBERTON.

Funeral services for Agnes Marie SNOW BARTON, 85, of Vian, were held at 10 a.m. Monday, at the Agent Chapel in Sallisaw, with Bro. George Ellis Jr. officiating. Burial was in Drakes Stand Cemetery southwest of Sallisaw, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. She was born March 19, 1917, in Long community, to Odus Mays SNOW and Minnie Louise (DUTY) SNOW. She died Friday, Feb. 28, 2003, in Vian. She married Emery Clarence "Pete" BARTON on Feb. 28, 1938, in Vian.  He preceded her in death on April 6, 1988. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Pansy Marie and Albert; one son and daughter-in-law, Emery Maze and Terry; five grandsons; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Margaret; one brother and sister in law, Willard and Frankie; two sisters-in-law, Ann and Nita.

Funeral services for  Beverly KIRBY BONNER, 77, of Muldrow, are being held at 1 p.m. Thursday, at the First Baptist Church in Muldrow, with burial in Mansfield, Ark., under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Muldrow. Mrs. BONNER was born on  May 4, 1925, in Oklahoma City to Henry and Bertha KIRBY. She died Sunday, March 2, 2003.  Survivors include one daughter and one son-in-law, Carol and her husband Jim; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and his wife, Debbie, and Vince and his wife, Becky; five grandchildren;one great-grandson; one step-son and daughter-in-law, Bill and his wife, Maureen and other relatives and friends, She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, "Dub" BONNER.

Burial was in Garden of Memories Cemeteries in Vian, under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Sallisaw.  He was born Sept 20, 1975, in Fort Smith, Ark., to Steven Leaven BOYD and Angela (MARTIN) STONEBARGER. He died Sunday, March 2, 2003, in Sallisaw.  Survivors include one son, Steven Robert; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Shawna and Josh and Katy Beth; his parents, Steve and Cathy BOYD and Angela and Billy STONEBARGER; his grandparents, Steven Daniel and Velma BOYD, Merle and Pat MARTIN; one nephew; one niece; four step-sisters, Lacey, Cindy, Kristie and Brandy and Tracey; three step-brothers, Billy, William II and Jerome; one step-grandfather Vaughn TAYLOR and several aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends, including Chantz and Billy.

Funeral services for Virginia "Ginger" BRASUELL, 72, of Whittier, Calif., formerly of Sallisaw, are being held Thursday in Whittier, burial will be in the Fort Smith National Cemetery in Fort Smith at a later date, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, Ark. She died Saturday, March 1, 2003, in Whittier. Survivors include three daughters, Terri, Nina and Susan; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Judy and four brothers, Gene, Dick, Scott and Paul. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Herman BRASUELL.

Funeral services for Bob Burke "Pops" DOOTY, 77, of Meeker for the past 33 years, formerly of Sallisaw, were held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, at the Meeker Assembly of God Church, with Rev. Charles Pearcy officiating. Burial was in New Hope Cemetery in Meeker, under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague. He was born May 6, 1925, in Melvern, Kan., to John Mark and Marie (YOCKEY) DOOTY. He died Monday, Feb. 24, 2003, in Midwest City. He married Ruth Ann MOUCKA on June 10, 1969, in Corpus Christie, Texas. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Ann DOOTY of Meeker; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Tara and Josh, Heather and Miles, Alicia, and Sharon and Mike; five sons and four daughters-in-law, Bob and Debbie Jr., Chuck, John and Pat, Rick and Cindy and Mark and Gina; and his mother-in-law, Ruth MOUCKA. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Doris Marie GROSS, 78, of Gans, died Friday, Feb. 28, 2003, in Gans. She was born on Sept 13, 1924, in Cleveland to Herman MANZER and Tabiatha MANZER. Cremation was under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. She married Elvis Nelson GROSS on Nov 9, 1974, in Las Vegas, Nev.  Survivors include her husband, Nelson of the home; one daughter, Patricia; two sons, Jimmy and Sammy; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one brother, Dewey; two sisters, Mary and Edna; and several other relatives and friends.

Graveside services for Robbe L. GULLEY, 78, of Webbers Falls, were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at the Antioch Cemetery near Stigler, with Johnny Buttram officiating, under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Stigler. Mrs. GULLEY was born on Dec. 30, 1924, in Webbers Falls to Robert and Sue (COLLINS) WARD. She died Monday, March 3, 2003, in Stigler. Survivors include one daughter, Jeanetta; one son, Ronnie; two grandsons; two granddaughters; two great-granddaughters; two great-grandsons; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Bettye and Wanda and her husband Earl; and one brother, John R. and his wife Annette; and other relatives and friends, including Steve. She was preceded in death by her husband, John GULLEY.

He was born Aug 27, 1961, in Fort Smith, Ark., to Wayne Carnell LAND and Bertha May (CRAWFORD) LAND. He died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2003, in Sallisaw. He married Karen Sue SPROUSE on Dec. 11, 1981, in Sallisaw. Survivors include his wife Karen LAND of the home; one daughter, Suzanne Denise; two sons, John David and Matthew James; his parents, Wayne and Bertha LAND; three sisters, Beth, Susan and Jeanette; one brother, Tim; his mother-in-law, Mary Sue SPROUSE and one sister-in-law, Debbie. He was preceded in   death by one daughter, Malinda Sue LAND on May 20, 1987; and his father-in-law, Horace SPROUSE on May 24, 2000.

Burial is in the Lovington Cemetery in Lovington, under the direction of Smith-Rogers Funeral Home of Lovington. She was born July 11, 1926, in Cloudroft, N.M. She died Sunday, March 2, 2003, in St Edwards Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith, Ark. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Donald and his wife Linda Ann; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Truman Don; and one sister Zola Marie. She was preceded in death by her husband, "Shorty" LUCE; her parents; one brother, Bernard R. HAMLETT.

Graveside services for George R. McDONALD, 78, of Sallisaw, will be held Friday in Sallisaw City Cemetery, with Dr. Lee Woodard officiating, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. He was born on Nov. 9, 1924, in Geary. He died Sunday, March 2, 2003, in Vian. He married Patsy Ruth McDONALD on March 12, 1960. She preceded him in death on Dec. 26, 2002. Survivors include two daughters, Tonia and Margaurite; three sons, Tom, Raymond and Robert P.; 20 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, John; one sister, Ella Mae; and several other relatives and friends.

She was born Jan. 5, 1929, in Vian, to William and Ella Mae THORNTON. She died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003, in Oklahoma City. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Dave and Deborah Kay; one daughter, Peggy; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Lucille and Juanita; and one brother, John E. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles V. MARTIN; and her parents.

Funeral services for Charlene McELYEA MATLOCK, 71, of Muldrow,  were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, at the Agent Chapel, in Muldrow, with Rev. Delbert Hodges officiating. Burial was in Cottonwood Cemetery southeast of Muldrow, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of  Muldrow. She was born July 26, 1931, in Tulsa, to Jeff Franklin McELYEA and Bertha Nevada (CARTER) McELYEA. She died Friday Feb. 28, 2003, in Muldrow. She married James Walter MATLOCK on March 12, 1954, in Lonoke, Ark. He preceded her in death on Aug 4, 1997. Survivors include one daughter, Christine; one son, Anthony; one granddaughter; one great-granddaughter; two sisters, Helen and Polly; and one brother, Harold. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son-in-law, Allen GUSHEA on Oct. 24, 1996; one sister, Virginia REYNOLDS on Aug 1, 1992; and three brothers, Floyd McELYEA on Aug 29, 1976, Roy McELYEA on Dec 7, 2001 and Gene McELYEA on Oct 8, 2001.

She was born April 10, 1919, in Blackjack community, to Grover Cleveland EDWARDS and Mary Frances "Essie" (McGEHEE) EDWARDS. She died Friday, Feb 28, 2003, in Muldrow. She married Houston Henry SHARP on March 23, 1935, in Hanson community. He preceded her in death on Jan 25, 1985. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law,  Sue   and Jerry; four sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Nadine, Roger and Jan, Rick and Sheila and Gary and Delana; one daughter-in-law, Carol; 20 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one brother, Finis; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Mrs WALTON was a homemaker. Survivors include one daughter, Betty HARRIS of Muldrow; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Burial is in White Cemetery in Gore, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Gore. She was born June 2, 1995, in Fort Smith, Ark. to Marty J. WOFFARD and Christina Elaine (LEWIS) WOFFARD. Services for Leroy R. BRANT, 93, of Muldrow are being held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Roland Church of Christ. Mr. BRANT died Thursday, March 6, in Fort Smith, Ark. He was born Oct. 5, 1909, to Frank and Emma TETER BRANT in Ralston. He and his wife, Eunice Lorene MEDLOCK BRANT, were married on March 13, 1932, in Hutcheson, Kan. She preceded him in death on June 16, 1994. Mr. BRANT was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Gladys CAPSTICK, Anna GREENSHIELDS and Ilena LAUGHTER; and three brothers, Walter, Shirley and D.C. BRANT. He is survived by a brother, Wilson BRANT of Nowata.

Funeral services for Lucille BRUTON CLOVER, 75, of Sallisaw, were held at noon Friday, at the Sallisaw City Cemetery gazebo, with Rev. Monroe Lowrimore officiating. Burial was in Sallisaw City Cemetery, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. She was born April 4, 1927, in Harrison community to Walter Calvin BRUTON and Grace Lorene (ADAMS) BRUTON. She died Wednesday, March 5, 2003, in Sallisaw. She married Henry Hamilton CLOVER on March 5, 1965, in Poteau. He preceded her in death in June 1988. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon C. and Donald, and Joanne and Howard; one son and daughter-in-law, Calvin and Patricia; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ila, Margaret and Jessie Mae; two brothers, Wadie and Joe; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Burial will be in U.S. National Cemetery in Ft. Gibson, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. He was born Oct. 30, 1938, in Gore, to Tom JAMES and Aggie (BUSTER) JAMES. He died Thursday, March 6, 2003, in Tulsa. He married Alice SEQUICHIE on June 23, 1998, in Vian. Survivors include his wife, Alice JAMES of the home; three daughters, Sheila, Lela and Natasha; four sons, Tommy, Bret, Arrowtanks and Donald; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Annie and Nancy; and one brother, Charlie.

Funeral services for Freddie Joe SAMPLES, 75, of Van Buren, Ark., were held at 2 p.m. Friday, at the Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren, with burial in Macedonia Cemetery, near Uniontown, Ark., under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren. He died Wednesday, March 5, 2003, in a local hospital. He died Sunday, March 9, 2003, in Fort Smith, Ark. He married Emma Sue AMOS on Jan. 1, 1957, in Tulsa. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Emma Sue BROCK of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda and Kevin and Betty Ann and Tony; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Rick and Jerry and Traci; eight grandchildren; one sister, Georgia; two brothers, Jim and Bob; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. He married Doris RANDOLPH on Oct. 28, 1957, in Childress, Texas.
