Frank Eaton aka Pistol Pete was a minor celebrity in Oklahoma as well as Payne County

This photo was taken Sept. 1948 at Cowboy Hill and his eldest daughter is with him. Sorry, he did not write her name on the back of the photo nor did he say where, exactly, Cowboy Hill was........he claimed to have been raised by Indians, and crossed the Chisholm Trail many times as well as with Jim Chisholm. As a young girl I would pass his home on the way to Main St. in Perkins and he would be on his front porch braiding his hair. He was kind of intimidating, I think. His eyes were crossed but still he could use those guns strapped to his waist. They were not just for decorations. My brother saw him shoot them and to a young boy from California it was most impressive.
