Emanuel Ralph Speare
Early resident of Pickens Co., Chickasaw Nation, I.T.

Emanuel Ralph Speare, son of Ralph & Mary Ellis Speare of Spry Mill, was born 08 Mar 1843, Okehampton, Devonshire, England. He came to Pickens Co I.T. about 1881 to the Beef Creek/WhiteBead Hill area.

Mr. Speare raised sheep and cattle on land leased from the Morris and Rennie families and operated a mill for Zack Gardner on the Washita River.

His daughter, Mary E., born 09 Nov 1865, in Devonshire, was married to Amos R. Waite, a Chickasaw and the son of T.F. and Catherine Waite.

Another daughter, Annie Charlotte, born 18 Feb 1867, Devonshire, married John M. Cloud Black son of H.G.W. and Mary Cloud of Hempstead Tx.

Emanuel died 17 Oct 1936 and is buried in White Bead Cemetery, Garvin County, Ok.
