Edward Capehart O'Kelley 1858 - 13 January 1904

O'Kelley being a good friend of Jesse James, there are a couple of theories on this, one is that he was a friend, another is he just wanted the recognition for being the man that shot the man that shot Jesse. He finally found, Robert N. Ford in a Silver mining camp in Creede, Colorado.

It is theorized that Ford shot James in the back while Jesse was adjusting a wall picture. Since O'Kelley was shot down in the streets of Oklahoma City in January 1904, by the law, it may be safe to assume that he too was an outlaw. His headstone can be found outside the small community of Patton, in Bollinger County, Missouri. It is located behind a little white church.

Note: This information has been taken from the Headstone and from an article on E. C. O'Kelley on the Internet I have no connection to this family. My only interest is the impressive Stone.
