Dessie was born 11-9-1908 Cleveland County, Ok.


She married J. W. (Sam) Nance, divorced later, she married Charles A. Garner, originally from Missouri. Dessie and Sam had a daughter, Nancy Ann and Dessie and Charlie had a son, George Curtis and an infant, Linda Sue. Dessie was fourth of seven generations in the County. She was the daughter of Roy and Jessie Mock and lived S. E. of Noble, Ok. Dessie's primary occupation was occupational therapy and was valuable in the program at Central State Hospital, as well as at Oklahoma City Community College. Her rewards in her work were when a patient would speak after many years or show response. She was a faithful Southern Baptist and her favorite hymn was "How Great Thou Art".
