Joe and Jessie were from Cleveland County. Joe was the son of Dora Sisk Strode (daughter of Newton Jasper Sisk and Norma America Sisk) and Jessie the daughter of Mary Cornelia Sisk Ward, also the Sisk's daughter. The two were the third of seven generations in the county.
