Liberty School, 1910
Three Miles West of Pocasset, Grady Co., Oklahoma

Liberty Schoolhouse was the setting for this 1910 group picture. Mrs. Zenobia Davis taught all grades from first through eighth in one room. She taught the school for two years after being warned that she wouldn't stay for all former teachers were run off by the bigger boys. She found the children very cooperative and had no trouble with them at all.  In the back row (from left to right) are: Hazel Falter, Beatrice Clark, Lizzie Swain, Minnie Dagendorfer, Mabel Jansen, Mrs. Davis, Tom McGraw, Merrell Clark, Roy McGraw, Virgil Carter and Gordon McGraw. In the third row is Edwin Dagendorfer, Albert Jeschke, Alfred Schwartz, Robert Smedley, and Justin Clark. In the second row is Lucile Smedley, Jewell Fetter, Pearl Jeschke, Grace McGraw, Maddie Dagendorfer, Hildred Smedley, Rose Richardson, Emma Nicholas, Pauline Early, Hazel Richardson, and Maebelle Johnson. In the front row is Earl Swain, Lorraine Clark, Chester Boles, Wesley Swain, Clifton Swain, Quillen Swain, Theodore Jansen, Orville Barth, Marall Barth, Chester Chiles, Henry Schwartz, and Willie Swain.
