CCC Company #1802
1934
Smithville, McCurtain County, OK

The actual size of these pictures is 10" x 30" and I have spent a great deal of time fixing scratches and folds, but I enjoyed the results and would like to share them.

These pictures were taken in Nov, 1934, at Smithville, Ok.  The Commanding Officer was 1st Lt. N. D. Christian. The camps function was road work and forestry in the area of Smithville, OK.

The only identification of the any of the CCC boys in the group picture is:

  1. Count from the bottom up to row 2, left to right; person #3 is Clayton Chalk.
  2. Count from the bottom up to row 2, left to right; person #16 is Tommy Darby.
  3. Count from the bottom up to row 4, left to right; person #16 is Leo G. Vaughn.  Note: the men are not lined up in columns, so Leo is not directly behind Tommy and two rows up; you have to count over to number 16 to get the correct person.

Note: Leo G. Vaughn is the father of the contributor.
