The Daily Oklahoman Oklahoma City, Oklahoma June 15, 1969 State Men Die in War The men were identified as Army Spec. 4 Tommy R. Lawson of Custer and Army Spec. 4 Luke J. Azlin, of Star Route, Hodgen.... Azlin, a former Heavener barber, was killed in action June 6. He had been in Vietnam since November of last year and was with the airborne infantry. He was a native of Heavener and 1966 graduate of Heavener High School. Before his induction last May, he was employed at Northside Barber Shop in Heavener where his father, Thomas J. Azlin, had been a long time barber before his retirement. In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife, Carolyn, of Fort Smith, Ark.; and two brothers, Boyd Wayne Welton of San Francisco and Harley Baker, of Anderson, Calif. Services for Azlin are pending with Dowden Funeral Home of Heavener.
