Elmo J. Brown, 74, of Pocola died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002, in a Little
Rock hospital. He was born Aug. 27, 1928, in Coalgate, Okla. He was a
Navy veteran of the Korean War, was owner of Fort Smith Janitorial
Service for 36 years, a welder, a member of Fraternal Order of the
Eagles, the UCT and of the Assembly of God faith. He was preceded in
death by his parents, Joe and Beatrice; a son, Joe Brown, and a
daughter, Connie Hunt.
Funeral was Friday at Christian Grove Free Will Baptist Church in Pocola
with burial at Macedonia Cemetery in Pocola with the Rev. Jim Waldrop
officiatin, under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of
Pocola.
He is survived by his wife, Joann Brown of the home; two daughters,
Diane Titsworth of Pocola and Jodie Been of Mulberry; three
stepdaughters, Tina Brewer, Debbie Griffin and Terri Arredondo, all of
Lavaca; a stepson, Eddie Bowen of Alice, Texas; a sister, Sue Stephens
of Sand Springs, Okla.; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren;
numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones and a host of
beloved friends.
Pallbearers were David Milligan, Bully Barnes, Max Hudkins, Buzz Smith,
Gerald Pipkins and Lee Carney.
Honorary pallbearers were Jack Craig and Jr. Lowery.
