Thelma Mae Brown, 71, of Arkoma, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2003, in
Fort Smith, Ark. She was born April 17, 1932 at Webbers Falls to Olen
Jasper and Lella (Jones) New. She was a homemaker and a member of the
Word of Faith Tabernacle in Fort Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph C. Brown;
one infant son, Timothy; one sister, Mary Smith; and two brothers, Billy
and John W. New.
Survivors include two daughters, Deborah Melton of Muldrow and Kimberly
Crockett of Arkoma; three sons, Ricky Brown of Fort Smith, Robbie Brown
of Arkoma and Wendell Brown of Bonanza, Ark.; two sisters, Olene New of
Coolidge, Ariz. and Martha McBath of Tulare, Calif.; two brothers,
Junior New of Tucson, Ariz. and Garry New of Coolidge, Ariz.; 12
grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9 at the Mallory Chapel
with the Rev. Israel Ochoa and Mr. Adam Barreiro officiating. Burial
will follow in New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Mallory Funeral
Home of Spiro.
Pallbearers will be Draper Crone, Derrick Crone, William Melton, David
Bowling, Jerry Davis and Jeremy Moran.
Honorary pallbearers will be Christopher Brown.
