The Daily Oklahoman Oklahoma City, Oklahoma August 26, 1920 pg 15 Town Marshal of Bokoshe Convicted Poteau, Aug 25 - Bill Clark, town marshal of Bokoshe, LeFlore county, was found guilty of manslaughter by a jury in district court here last night and sentenced to 10 years in the penitentiary. He was charged with having shot and killed Bill Thomas, a citizen of Bokoshe, in a picture show in that town early this spring. The evidence indicated that Clark entered the show looking for Frank Delaney, with whom he is said to have been having trouble. Encountering Delaney just inside the door a fist fight developed and Clark pulled his gun. The shot which he was alleged to have fired at Delaney struck Thomas, who was in the audience, killing him almost instantly. The state demanded the death penalty, but the jury which was out an hour, and a half reduced the charge to manslaughter in fixing the penalty. Information posted as courtesy to researchers only. The poster is not related to nor researching any of the above.
