Mary Jane M. JAMES DAVIS was born December, 1860 or 1861, near Scullyville, Choctaw Nation, Indian Territory. A widow of Davis JAMES, a Choctaw Indian, she married
William M. "Buck" DAVIS, a widower also with children, in about 1891. All of the above children were born in or near Poteau, LeFlore County, Choctaw Nation, Indian Territory.
Grace DAVIS (married Isom HOLSTEAD on November 29, 1903) was the daughter of William M. and Hester Jane
(NOE) DAVIS.
Etha M. (married Arthur G. DOSHIER in 1902), Walter, Dennis, and Davis JAMES were the children of Mary Jane and Davis JAMES.
Elmer, Elvin, Harmon, Cleveland, Roy, and Jessie were the children of Mary Jane (JAMES) and William M. "Buck" DAVIS.
Mary had twin boys (Davis and Dennis) by Davis JAMES and also had twin boys (Elmer and Elvin) by William M. "Buck" DAVIS, her second husband. If anyone can properly identify which one is Davis and which is Dennis, and which one is Elmer and which is Elvin, please let us know.
