Hunter was born with Down's Syndrome. He spent his
short life in and out of the hospital with a severe heart defect known as an
"unbalanced complete av canal." His immune system was also
challenged because of his weak heart. Therefore, he was susceptible to
illnesses that to most children would be a cold; to Hunter, they were
life-threatening.
For eleven months, he fought hard and overcame so many close calls and complications that I finally believed he would make it. But, before he was big enough for the surgery that would save his life, he caught a virus that was stronger than him. To say that he was adored is an under-statement. He was truly the "light of our lives," and we miss him terribly. His battle is over and ours has just begun. Debbie Goines |
