Johnnie Thomas Gwinn, 92, of Talihina, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2003, at McAlester. He was born Sept. 16, 1910 at LeFlore to Ruffus Lafayette Gwinn and Adar Beatrice Dawson-Gwinn. He married Dolly Crims on May 6, 1936. He was a mechanic, a member of the Machinists Local No. 1305 and a certified Aerospace worker. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Nellie Davis. Survivors include his wife, of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Wade Rodgers of Poteau; his grandchildren, Michelle and John Marvel, Michael, Tommy and Gary Rodgers, all of Poteau; great-grandchildren, John and Karen Marvel of Poteau; two sisters, Lillie Crims of Talihina and Ida Clough of Calhoun; two brothers, Fay Gwinn of Waco, Texas and Dan Gwinn of Tennessee; two sisters-in-law, Molly Gravitt and Leona Crims, both of Talihina; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 15 at Talihina First Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Russell officiating. Burial will follow in New Talihina Cemetery under the direction of Talihina Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Michael Rodgers, Tommy Rodgers, John Marvel, Gary Rodgers, John Grogan and Alvin Duane Crims. Honorary pallbearers will be Randolph Crims and Calvin Crims. |
