Robert Lee Holbrook, 75, of Spiro, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2003,
in Fort Smith, Ark. He was born Aug. 31, 1927 at St. Louis, Mo. to
Burley and Geneva (Rhodes) Gothard. He was retired from the City of
Spiro, an Air Force veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He loved
to hunt and fish.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, James Gothard.
Survivors include his wife Faye of Spiro; one daughter, Tina Sanders of
Fort Smith; three stepdaughters, Esther Matlock of Keota, Juanita Berry
and Melissa Wideman, both of Spiro; four sons, Troy, Robert, Alan and
Charles Holbrook, all of Spiro; one sister, Linda Worley of Springfield,
Mo.; one brother, Roy Holbrook of Springfield, Mo.; nine grandchildren;
and three great-grandchildren.
There will be visitation with friends Friday, July 11 from 6 to 8 p.m.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 12 at Spiro
City Cemetery with the Rev. Victor Neve officiating, under the direction
of the Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro.
