Dortha Lanell Hoyle, 74, of Poteau, passed away Friday, Jan. 17, 2003. She was born Nov. 26, 1928 at Kennedy. She was a member of Calvary Assembly of God in Poteau, loved gardening, crafts, music and cats. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Troy and Ruth Mae Bell (Gullick) Baldwin.
Survivors include her husband John Hoyle of the home; brothers and sisters, Martha Rice of Oklahoma City, Finis Baldwin of Shady Point, Gwen Bell of Henryetta and Donald Baldwin of Fort Worth, Texas; nephew, Joe Hoyle of Ponca City; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones; and a host of beloved friends.
Services were held at 10 am Monday, Jan. 20 at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau with the Rev. Jack Covey officiating. Burial followed in
Oakland Cemetery at Poteau under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
Pallbearers were Heath Baldwin, Keith Baldwin, Mike Thompson and Bob
Arens.
John Ware Hoyle, 89, of Poteau, passed away Monday, April 7, 2003. He was born Nov. 18, 1913 at Poteau. He was a veteran, having served in both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy, serving his country for nine years. He loved cats, politics, and quoting the Bible from memory. He was a carpenter.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dortha; his parents, David Lee and Connie (Noe) Hoyle; three brothers; and one sister.
Survivors include one nephew, Joe and Judy Hoyle of Ponca City; brothers and sisters-in-law, Martha and George Rice of Oklahoma City, Finis and Emma Baldwin of Shady Point, Gwen and Anthony Bell of Henryetta and Donald Baldwin of Fort Worth, Texas; numerous other relatives and loved ones; and a host of beloved friends.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 9 at Calvary Assembly of God Church in Poteau with the Rev. Kenneth Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
Pallbearers will be James Phillips, Jim Holstead, Finis Baldwin, Jeff Bengs, Bob Arens, Lattie Hoyle, Leslie Odom and Stanley Odom.
