Roy Elmer Kelly, 97, of the Tucker Community, passed away Sunday, July
13, 2003, in Sallisaw. He was born July 10, 1906 to Ernest Miles Kelly
and Tupsy Cora Carter Kelly at Oden, Ark. He married Callie Zona Davis
Kelly on Dec. 24, 1930 in the Cowlington Community. He was a lifelong
farmer and cattle rancher, a member of the Masonic Lodge and a member of
the Tucker Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his wife on March 3, 2000.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Roma Lee and James Cox of
Sallisaw; one son and daughter-in-law, Davis and Anne Kelly of the Short
Mountain Community; three granddaughters, Vickie Kinnick of Inola,
Dianne Kelley of Inola and Debbie Ross of Tahlequah; five
great-granddaughters; and one great-grandson; one sister, Ina Ballard of
Cibilo, Texas; several nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives
and friends.
Services will be held Wednesday, July 16 at 10 a.m. at Agent Chapel in
Sallisaw with Lewis Hale officiating. Burial will follow in Cowlington
Cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
Pallbearers will be Eugene Gee, Wayne Merrill, J.D. Gist, Eugene
Alexander, Larry Gragg and Gary Rogers.
