Alice Leonard, 92, of Howe, passed away Monday, July 21, 2003, in Poteau. She was born Aug. 3, 1910 at Waimea, Hawaii. She was a beautician/homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Antone E. and Maria (Tavares) Stevens; her husband, Denton Leonard; one son, Karl Leonard; and eight brothers and sisters.

Survivors include two daughters, Alma Vierra and Carole Leonard, both of Howe; three grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lorrain Parmenter and Lucille Byrnes, both of Hilo, Hawaii; one brother, Frank Stevens of Honolulu, Hawaii; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones; and a host of beloved friends.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 24 at Evans Chapel of Memories of Poteau with the Revs. Kenneth Williams and Jimmy D. Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Springhill Cemetery at Monroe under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
