Carl McKinney, 88, of Spiro, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2003 at Fort Smith, Ark. He was born Oct. 29, 1914 at White Oak, Ark. to John William and Lily L. (Porter) McKinney. He was a construction worker, a member of the Construction Union and attended Flower Hill Pentecostal Church of God. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Cole McKinney, Dalton McKinney and Charlie "Sonny" McKinney; and one sister, Mamie Sexton. Survivors include one daughter, Carlis Fowler and husband Rick of Pocola; two brothers, Cal McKinney of Flower Hill and Cotton McKinney of Keota; two grandchildren, D.C. Stout and Lacey Fowler. Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 27 at the Flower Hill Pentecostal Church of God with the Rev. Cotton McKinney officiating. Burial followed in Short Mountain Cemetery under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro. Pallbearers were Stanley McKinney, Bo McKinney, Mike McKinney, Mark Martin, Ray Rivera, Rowdy Shell and Sandy McKinney. |
